I would of thought that sorta thing would be ok but they are obviously are being cautious. I don't think there's any nastienes in it. Anyway $4 a beer I'd be happy with that I'd buy one or six or ten.

Its just not footy if you can't have a beer in the change rooms. That's what the football culture is.

At last years first Presidents meeting it was discussed as the biggest issue in footy! The guy form Liquor & Gaming said it is within the rules to have "a" beer in the changerooms after a game but not to stay there all day / night and drink. At almost every game we purchased a ctn for $40 - $45 (when we won) and returned the favour to any club that asked when visiting us but only 1 ctn per team.

I also played at one ground (neutral venue) that let us purcase 24 beer tokens for $25 (very generous)but you had to go to bar.

If a club chooses not to sell one at cost then just dont return the favour - pretty simple.

$4 per beer isn't the issue (that's more than fair) my issue is exactly what others have mentioned on this thread - the fact that the do gooders will have us drinking soda water if they get their way yet every single one of us MUST have a Carlton Draught logo on our guernsey. What sort of message is that sending? We want you to drink piss but only if it's after you've had a shower, thrown on your slacks, slicked your hair, powdered your balls and paid full price from the bar?

Our club gives you a carton if you play us...not sure i'd consider Carlton Dry the royal treatment but it's better than a kick in the balls. Other clubs might not like to do it but we do.

Fair enough you might want to be watchful of inspectors, but I think it stinks that it's getting to the point where you can't have a beer in the trenches with your mates after slogging your ass off for nearly 2 hours of hard yakka.

This sounds fair to me and I'll be encouraging this at my club, even if I have to buy the carton after the game. For my team that is, don't get your hopes up of me waltzing into the away rooms with a carton.

i think i've only had 1 team provide beer in the changerooms after the game since i've been playing footy. but i don't see how it matters if you were at your home ground your players would have to pay bar prices for their beer why should that be different at someone elses ground.

Gee Whiz Darth Vaider I thought I was a tight arse. You really are grasping at straws. Hows the powdering of the balls going?
