Forrestfield's single team would have to be the flag favourites. They missed out a couple of years ago after dominating all year in E3.

Round 3

Not a good day for home teams with only Gosnells taking the points at home after having 42 scoring shots to 5 against Piara Waters. The top four teams are humming along nicely, but I don't know who North Beach will credit their two extra goals to that they have somehow claimed as they only kicked 5.15 against Melville - the Rams winning by 19 points (10.4 to 5.15) despite having six less scoring shots at goal.

North Beach 7.15-57 v Melville 10.4-64
Ellenbrook 4.3-27 v Forrestfield 14.10-94
Belmont Districts 2.1-13 v ECU 16.10-106
SNESA 6.7-43 v Jandakot 10.19-79
Gosnells 17.25-127 v Piara Waters 2.3-15
Brentwood Booragoon 3.8-26 v Ballajura 14.8-92

1 Forrestfield (E3) 3 3 0 0 0 0 310 70 442.86 12
2 Ecu (E3) 2 2 0 0 1 0 265 21 1261.90 8
3 Gosnells (E3) 2 2 0 0 1 0 245 29 844.83 8
4 Ballajura (E3) 2 2 0 0 1 0 154 54 285.19 8
5 Ellenbrook (E3) 3 2 1 0 0 0 156 161 96.89 8
6 Swan Valley (E3) 2 1 1 0 1 0 137 106 129.25 4
7 Belmont Districts (E3) 3 1 2 0 0 0 164 185 88.65 4
8 Melville (E3) 3 1 2 0 0 0 147 186 79.03 4
9 Brentwood Booragoon (E3) 3 1 2 0 0 0 162 217 74.65 4
10 Jandakot (E3) 3 1 2 0 0 0 146 267 54.68 4
11 Snesa (E3) 3 1 2 0 0 0 121 271 44.65 4
12 North Beach (E3) 2 0 2 0 1 0 98 169 57.99 0
13 Piara Waters (E3) 3 0 3 0 0 0 40 409 9.78 0

THIS WEEK
Forrestfield over North Beach
Ballajura to beat SNESA
ECU to edge out Gosnells
Melville just against Swan Valley
Jandakot will fall short against Ellenbrook
Piara Waters will remain winless after losing to Brentwood Booragoon

I detect a bit of sarcasm Kermit. Yes, it seems that a clubs league side will almost inevitably beat another club’s thirds side. Maybe, as suggested, E3 should be exclusively for thirds sides to stop this predictable imbalance in the comp.

The thing that concerns me is that if it so obvious that this was going to happen, that the powers that be in the WAAFL who decide which teams go into E3 have either done this by design or this is the result of incompetence. Because it seem clear all teams aren’t in the same category.
