Got a few results up, but no info on Cockburn V Roleystone and Secret Harbour V Jandakot.

I played in the reserves game for Southern River (SR) against Brentwood Booragoon (BB). 1st qtr was closely contested with BB missing opportunities to skip away with the match only scoring 0.6 whilst SR capitalised on their chances but only scoring 1.2 in the first. Conditions weren't that great. The second qtr was dominated by SR kicking away to a 27 point lead with a goal just before half time by yours truly. BB did not register a goal in the first half. SR 5.5.35 BB 0.8.8. 3rd qtr and BB turned the game on its head and finally got going whilst SR just stopped only kicking 1 behind. BB were in front at 3 qtr time BB 5.9.39 SR 5.6.36. The final qtr was a big back and forth tussle but with 2 late goals SR got over the line.

The league game I didn't get to see much of but from what I did see BB were just too classy and too strong for SR. I left at half time and BB were up by 5 goals. maybe Bulldog1980 could shed some light on this one.

Southern River vs. Brentwood - League

Brentwood came out firing in the first quarter, getting 8 goals to 1 (I think) in the first quarter and Southern River was chasing tail the rest of the day. The other quarters were fairly even, pretty well goal for goal, with Brentwood maintaining the margin in the 2nd and third quarter. The final quarter saw Southern River come out firing and close the gap a bit by scoring 4 unanswered goals, but Brentwood were able to limit the damage and come away with the win.

Southern River vs. Brentwood - Ressies

With the ressies as FL87 said, I think for the first half it was pretty even in all the important stats, Brentwood just couldn't get the ball between the middle sticks. Some words by the coach and leadership group at half time must have spurred something on and Brentwood came out to dominate the 3rd quarter to be in front at the final change. Both teams looked exhausted in the final quarter and Southern River had a little bit more composure to come out and kick the final few goals to get up.

Would be good to get a review on this game.

Jandakot lost to Secret Harbour in all three grades.

Colts - awesome game of football by two quality teams. Secret Harbour were infront by ~5 goals at 1/4 time(3 in the last 2 minutes) and that was basically the margin.

Reserves - SH thumped the undermanned Jets.

League - SH jumped the Jets in the 1st. Jets fought, but struggled up forward. Even 2nd & 3rd.

SH kicked the last couple for a comfortable margin.

SH are a quality side and are adding to their squad. Few ex-Peel WAFL. Lots ex-Peel League players.

Facilities are very poor. Opposition changerooms basically a toilet block. No rubdown bench. No clubrooms at all.

Paddock is VERY uneven (and grass thick/spongy and deceiving). Jets had two serious ankle injuries in league and SH had least 1 with a sickly dislocated knee cap. Jets also had two other serious injuries (hospital) in League which was disappointing, but not ground condition related.

They are a good good side and obviously haven't lost much from their dominant two years in the Mercantile.

Had a good game against southern river, was fantastic to have a win first up after a lean couple of years!!

Ressies was a close game all day, which, with a bit more experience on the field and a full bench may have been a different story, but full credit to SR who lead most of the day and stuck in and got the job done. Our boys will improve with more game time and getting a full squad!

League was a different story, SR were asleep in the first quarter and let us help our selves to 5 - 6 goals, which was basically the difference. In the second quarter they fought back a little bit, then we had control in the third. Southern river kicked 4 of the last 5 goals to put some respectability back in the score board thanks to the hard running and good finishing of number 20, but the game was iced at that stage.

Some time we do take things for granted down at the kennel, as harsh as this sounds, I cant beleive southern river can survive in those facilities, no lights, no club room, very spongy ground, do their awards outside under a patio, might be ok now, but in a few months wouldnt be very pleasant... and how do they organise any functions! Did enjoy the fact they have $3 beers though!!

Any way we got the 4 points in league which was great, ressies will come good over the next few weeks, bring on T/A's this week at home!

Is there change room facilities/showers etc bulldog?

Showers were hot, although I was playing the ressies, so I'm not sure how they were at the end of the day.

We make the best of our facilities in the best way we can. I've played on that ground for most of my footy life and I can say that the ground is in a lot shape than previous year. We also share that oval with Huntingdale JFC . We have got lights on the ground as we train every Tuesday n Thursday night there. We venture elsewhere for our functions so it's not too bad. I think our ground with our facilities are a lot better than some grounds I've played on.

yeah good rooms and hot showers, just wierd not having a club room. I know if we didnt have our major functions at the club selling our beers we would struggle financially.
