Going by last years results plus a few other issues, this should be how C1 will start off for 2018.
Only Stirling drop down from B grade and Kenwick and Melville get thrown a lifeline to stay in C1.
Basso and Gossie move up from C2.
All clubs with a colts side and 6 with a thirds team last year, should make for an interesting 2018.
C1 - (C Grade) - from - place
1 Stirling B 9
2 Ballajura C1 3
3 Quinns District C1 4
4 Willetton C1 6
5 Bullcreek Leeming C1 7
6 Carlisle C1 8
7 Kenwick C1 9
8 Melville C1 10
9 Bassendean C2 1
10 Gosnells* C2 2

I stand corrected, Stirling colts forfeited half the 2017 season.

Any news on how any of the teams in this comp are tracking along?
You would expect Balla to be up there again.
Will Gossies/Basso be up to the standard of C1?
Willetton been in the fold for a little while surely ready for a proper assault on b grade again??

What is everyone’s numbers looking like on the track. I know Stirling have been struggling for numbers thus far. Reports of 20 on the track.

Still early days so hard to make anything of the clearances but some clubs have had a reasonable influx while others are staying the same. I have only included either approved or pending so some of the pending’s may be cancelled or denied but it’s a number to work with

Stirling 3 in 8 out
Ballajura 11 in 1 out
Quinns 6 in 8 out
Willetton 12 in 4 out
BCL 25 in 8 out
Carlisle 0 in 3 out
Kenwick 4 in 6 out
Melville 18 in 6 out
Bassendean 17 in 4 out
Gosnells 14 in 4 out

Most of these are juniors being cleared to senior clubs. The club with the most transfers from other clubs is Ballajura with 6

25 in for BCL, I’d say a few have come from the east Fremantle colts development program.

You must have some serious time on your hands Clarko!

Kick the ball so Bullcreeks colts will be handy then?
Be interested to see how many grand final players from Basso and Gossie go around again.
Like wise with stirling(how many of last years side stays with the club)
Usually this a pre cursor to how the teams coming up and coming down will go for the year.

If Basso and Gosnells keep most of their side from last year they should absolutely dominate this grade just as 2016 C2 gran Finalists Thornlir and Ballajurra did last year.. Some of the Thornlie guys were saying C2 is a much better comp than C1 and last years Results backed that up.

had a bit of downtime at work.
Bolter your comment doesn't make sense.
Thornlie went undefeated in C2 in 2016 then came up and went 12/6 finishing third (then going through finals the hard way to win the GF)
if it was a better comp for them in C2 shouldn't they have gone undefeated again?

I do think the two teams coming up will be competitive but year to year changes in Amateurs can be drastic. all it takes is a few retirements, holidays or transfers to completely change the makeup of a team.
