The Amos Forum is a bit lack luster of late so i thought i would list my favourite grounds for watching Amateur Football in Perth. This takes facilities & atmosphere into context.

1. Wanneroo Showgrounds- Wanneroo Roos (A Grade)
My personal favourite to watch footy in Perth. The old grandstand and fence around ground gives it a real old feel but with a modern mix with the new changerooms. Great bunch of blokes to have a beer with also.

2. Dalkeith Oval- Collegians Blues (B Grade)
By far the best facilities in the competition, you are right next to the action with the fans always making it a great place to watch footy.

3. Gosnells Oval- Gosnells Hawks (C1)
The Old Girl, Impossible to leave out Gossy out of the list. Although the facilities are aging they are picturesque in a rather notorious part of Perth. Fans are always vocal when the hawks are on top.

Honourable Mentions- Charles Riley Reserve (North Beach), Kingsway Reserve (Kingsway), Pat Goodridge Reserve (Wembley), Gil Fraser Reserve (Nth Fremantle), Ferndale Park (Lynwood Ferndale)

Unhonourable Mentions- McDonald Reserve (Whitford), Richard Guelfi Reserve (Stirling), Hamer Park (Mt Lawley),

Surely Melville is up there with the best.
Agree with all your dishonourable mentions - all terrible for viewing (from the bar at least).
I quite like Ballajura as well.

You can view footy at Melville real easy coz the oval is the size of a basketball court.

I quite like the atmosphere that Swan Ath are able to create out there. Always an enjoyable trip and good banter with the locals.
In saying that they have had a couple of their ladies days or wine tours on while I was out there, which helps improve the scenery.

Dishonourable mentions
Surely one of the worst has to be Quinns. No coverer area, no grassy embankments and a very vocal (feral) crowd.

Got to love gosnells oval, has it all. Parking around the oval, great grandstand, bar area and heaps of under cover area. The oval is a good size too.

Warnbro isn’t too bad and can’t wait to see Manning’s new facility’s without there shoe box of a ground.
Any other clubs out there due to get an upgrade??

Surely Kelmscott's home ground John Dunn Oval must be considered.
Was a great oval to play on and watch footy at back in the day along with Gosnells Oval.

McGillray Oval would easily be the worst venue in WAAFL if not Australia. Shelter and clubrooms are miles away and the venue has zero atmosphere and it is embarrassing seeing such a high level football being played there. Not much hospitality there from the club there either as a number of times over the years I have been there the club hasn't run a canteen and even the bar hasn't been open. Very few of there players stay back for a drink either. When the bar has been open.

Thanks Boothead. Great news for the Bulls. Still don't know if I'm brave enough to venture up there.
