Hey Birdman just as an aside, what happened to the points system that was tabled a year or so again. I thought that was voted in by the clubs and was supposed to be implemented in 2017?

There just needs to be a simple system in place were if a player is caught taking whatever offer that may be from a club they get a 12month ban also. The players are not dumb and most know the rules about the waafl system.
If a player thinks they are that good go play country for $$$ don’t jeopardise the club and act like nothing is going on.

If anyone sent in an email asking for an investigation into the WAAFL A Grade GF sides this year regarding remuneration of players, what would need to be said to start such an investigation?

From an outsider looking in there was some serious football talent running around that would command a few $$$$$ in any other local or country league.

Freofortheflag you are spot on as most A/B clubs would have good connections in the Waafl and broader footy community and would use those connections well. Plus they have been doing it for years and know how to get away with it.

You only need to look at the WAAFL board members and see what clubs the board members used to be tied too and doubt those clubs would ever get looked at properly or caught.

There is two current board members that are club presidents, even a current President of a now A grade club on the board a conflict of interest i would have thought.

Can you imagine having a board meeting and discussing an issue with a club you are the current president of?

Gazza i think you will find that one of the presidents you were referring to actually stepped down mid way through last year and is no longer involved at board level at the club

My understanding is that implementation of the points system has been postponed to 2019. Don't know why - sooner the better for mine.
