Overall - all of us on here know heads aren’t all in the sand. Is time to do a complete clean-out if all cheats.

The integrity officer had more info on more clubs than people think. Proving anything is the hard part.

What really needs to happen is al those mugs who are paying players need to wake up and smell the roses that the second A in WAAFL stands for amateur. No flag won with any paid player counts. We only have to look at the top 2 grades in recent years. It’s a farce. Let’s all stop whispering around corners let’s call them out.

Quite simply. The A grade flag is on sale and usually the highest bidder wins. B grade is also about as clean as the Russian Olympic teams C1 and C4 have convicted clubs.

Saying ‘everyone is doing it is no excuse’ - life bans for administrators, 1 year for players and relegation 2 grades for clubs. Let’s do it now,!

Noranda would be very happy with that punishment they received considering what they could have been given and comparing the punishment to the cobras who basically got the death sentence.

Reading both cases and I would say Noranda was worse as they were offering inducements and payments through out the whole year to numerous players compared to the travel money offer to a player at the cobras.

Not sure how they managed to get off lightly??

Surely the people involved would have to be suspended.

Just admitting guilt shouldn't have that much of a penalty reduction considering they managed to play finals in 3 grades.

The WAAFL sent a strong message with the punishment of the cobras then back it up with a soft punishment with Noranda.

It would have sent a clear message that they aren't mucking around to all clubs if they got the full whack as well.

Interesting of season ahead and wonder if any other clubs will get caught.

Cobras were fined $2000 and the president and coach suspended. Along with no finals for league next year.

Would like to think the people involved at Noranda were suspended as well.

Got off quite lightly i would say.

Surely the Cobras would now being seeking some more legal advise and challenge the severity of their punishment. Can't change or give back what they have missed out on this year but should be able to overturn playing for no points in 2018 and possible get their fine reduced.

I know Noranda self-reported, but did Cockburn?
Noranda got a plea-bargain for self-reporting. If Cockburn didn't, then we know what a more full-blown penalty is in comparison.

Reading the statement from Noranda's Facebook page they were under investigation from the waafl.

The new committee admitted to it so I'm guessing the old committee was denying it through out the investigation which would have been going on for months.

I don't think they self reported the breach to the waafl as they had other clubs reporting them through out the year for inducements and player payment offers.

OK, I was wrong (the missus would say 'when am I right?' LOL).
Based on the penalty, I suppose there is merit on admitting guilt then.

If other clubs had been reporting them to the league during, I wonder how fat the investigations officers files are with allegations relating to all WAAFL clubs?

HYPOTHETICALLY SPEAKING with tongue firmly planted in cheek,

I pose this question?

If anyone sent in an email asking for an investigation into the WAAFL A Grade GF sides this year regarding remuneration of players, what would need to be said to start such an investigation?

From an outsider looking in there was some serious football talent running around that would command a few $$$$$ in any other local or country league.

Over to you?

So do we have this right - informing the waafl that you have breached the rules a number of times gets you a lighter sentence than someone who tried to breach the rules but failed
