BH, I think you will find over the past few years Maddington may have approached Thornlie, Kenwick, Gosnells and a couple of other clubs. This may have been their last roll of the dice.

Casual Observer, I agree your year next year could be fun. The interesting bit will be that their will need to be some changes at the top around your club next year based on what has been voted down, Hopefully you will get the numbers to stand up and fill in the gaps to support what your members have asked for.

Like I said the No vote will have as many ramifications as the yes vote going forward, and I for one will be watching how both clubs go now that their members have voted.

Good luck to both sides in 2018 and beyond

Given that other Clubs in their local area, with the exception of Kelmscott, are all travelling well, I think Maddington would struggle to find a another Club to merge with, particularly given that they appear to want to keep the 'Bulls' name and their Club song.

For the other Clubs, it would come down to losing (potentially) a large part of their own heritage.

It would also come down to 'What's in it for us?'.

No disrespect to Maddington, but the answer to that is, I suspect, not much.

My personal vote would remain 'No'.
