First of all I don’t appreciate the clubs or my integrity being questioned. Yes an application was submitted before the September deadline however as I understand it there was a required item of paperwork not completed at the time that has since been submitted. What the WAAFL process is from this point I am personally unaware.

To suggest this is a recruiting ploy is a low blow, as coach I have contacted over 70 former players in an effort to get them back to the club in a playing or non playing capacity.

Of those 70+ I was only aware of 3 currently playing at other clubs one of which has been appointed as our new Reserves coach. There has been zero effort on my or the clubs behalf to poach players from other clubs.
We have had a group of players contact me with regards to joining who would potentially cross from a club within 15km but not through any effort of ours to recruit.

Anyone who has issue with any aspect of our football operations is invited to contact me directly and discuss

I don't think anyone is that concerned about poaching players.... It might be worth contacting the WAAFL to check to see if they have your application.

If other clubs have been calling and being told there is no application, club's might get the idea u are simply using this as recruiting ploy.

Email sent out to clubs from the waafl today, confirming no application had been lodged, apparently an enquiry via phone was made back in September. No application means they won't be in the waafl in 2018

Good to hear, can’t believe they would consider another amateur club in that area.

The club was informed yesterday it would not be admitted (Tuesday 23/1). The WAAFL have informed us that our application was not up to to scratch from an administrative perspective. The board have however offered support in preparing for a future application.

As a club we will work to improve all our operations to re-group and re apply next year.
