Well said Gazza, im a sponsor of the Cobras and want to take this opportunity to acknowledge their resilience. I know for a fact they are doing it tough and in their own words "unjustly".
Those that dont know they were found guilty of offering remuneration (travel money) on the grounds of "PROBABILITY"? Meaning why else eould a player travel from Morley to Cockburn for footy.

Mmmm, on that logic how is it we see AFL and WAFL players going straight from the elite levels to amatuers when very good remuneration is available at country and not far like eg PEEL League.
Where are the clubs found guilty for offering remuneration on the grounds of "PROBABILITY" here?
Oh these are higher grade and well connected clubs not a C4 tiddler.

Grass roots football deserves ....NO...demands better governance.

Thank you!
Probability is an interesting word isn't it?
What is th probabilty that the integrity folks of the WAAFL are associated with one or another of the current A grade clubs?

QT...you make some good points there.

Unfortunately what we have at the moment, is like the 'banks' self regulation!

Until the governing body..WAFC step in clubs like the Cobras are like community footy as a whole will be let down.

So there wasn't a player who claimed to have been played by the cobra's?

UHT....'played'
Do you mean paid?

You have lost me, do you mean the player that was told to sign a stat dec otherwise he would be de-regiustered and unable to play in the G/F that his team had qualified for.

Pls elaberate.

Stinker from what’s been said on this thread is this correct?

A player was investigated for being offered travel money by Cockburn to play for them.
As part of that investigation, the player was asked to sign a stat dec by the WAAFL saying he either was or wasn’t offered money to play.
The by-laws state that players who fail to sign a stat dec are suspended from playing until they sign the document
The by-laws also state that clubs are not able to offer payment to players to play for them.
The player signed the stat dec saying he was offered money to play for Cockburn
Cockburn were penalised for offering money to a player.

Yeah redlegs we are all aware of fairly well what’s happened. We are all also fairly well aware this happens at higher grade club clubs ten-fold. Good to see cobras are pushing through this year too. Well done to them. I don’t rkn the guy who was a little rat would ever want to play the cobras again though assuming it still plays footy somewhere

Stinker, are you saying that he was "pushed" into signing the stat dec. Surely if he signed a stat dec saying he didn't get offered money that would've cleared your club. Or are higher forces trying to justify their jobs and possibly take some pressure off the A grade clubs where it is rife ?

Redlegs he was told he had to sign the stat dec.. this stat dec completely contradicted an earlier written and signed statement saying he was not offered travel money! A statement I would like to add that was written after he had left the Cobras..clearly highlighting he had nothing to gain by lying.

The validity of this 'finding' should have been investigated.

For those that are interested in the FACTS, I would invite you to view the video on the link below.
