The penultimate weekend is here and the games are out at the Ellenbrook District Open Space - not to far for me to travel which is good as I'll be down supporting (and tipping as always) the 3 Eels sides. Looks like a couple of days of rain leading up to the game with a 50% chance of showers on Saturday. Hopefully see a couple of the old faces up near the bar throughout the day.

The knocked out side:

4th - Mosman Park
In the end they weren't good enough to beat Dianella when it counted but they still have plenty of positives to come out of the season. Both the league & ressies were in finals so there is depth to work with, the big hope from other clubs is that they have a new umpire next year.

Congrats to the B&f winners & runners up:

League:
27 - Cameron Tilley (CWP)
26 - Mark Colace (Snesa)

Reserves:
26 - Joseph Mahoney (Mosman Park)
19 - Josh Satie (Ellenbrook)

And onto the games.....

C3 League - Ellenbrook v Dianella @ 14:30
Rd 7 Ellenbrook 9.13-67 lost to Dianella 9.18-72
Rd 17 Dianella 13.9-87 defeated Ellenbrook 10.7-67
QF Dianella 8.9-57 lost to Ellenbrook 14.10-94
Well haven’t these 2 clubs battled each other more than any other over the last 7 years. The Raiders had a good win on the weekend and now look to back it up this week. It’s fitting that it’s the 2nd & 3rd placed teams are facing off to earn a crack at the top team. The Eels got comprehensively beaten by Snesa but have put that behind them and are primed for this week. This will be a hard fought contest and I expect to see a few Snesa boys watching with interest.

C3 Reserves – Ellenbrook v Cottesloe @ 12:35
Rd 8 Cottesloe 7.2-44 lost to Ellenbrook 6.11-47
Rd 16 Ellenbrook 8.6-54 defeated Cottesloe 7.5-47
After an 18-0 season the Eels got a reality check from Piara and will look to rebound on the home deck. The Roosters matched up well both times these sides played and will fancy themselves here with their ability to choose their best 22 qualified players.

WCE Colts – Jandakot v Ellenbrook @ 10:40
Rd 3 Ellenbrook 8.7-55 lost to Jandakot 11.2-68
Rd 11 Jandakot 14.8-92 defeated Ellenbrook 5.3-33
The Jets lost their first game for the year last week and will be keen for redemption. Clearly the best side all year but lost to a better side on the day last week. They earnt the double chance so will be keen not to waste it. The Eels have a chance for a 2016 GF rematch with a win here - hopefully the momentum of the 2nd half of the season carries through. Should be a cracking game.

League

Eels vs DM very good match ups with both teams very similar in ways, I think the home ground advantage will help the eels with this match but the raiders are very good in pressure situations I pick late surge by the raiders but the eels the get win under a goal.

Reserves

Eels vs Cott both matches have been very tight, will the weather play a factor, with Cottesloe able to pick from all qualified players there going to very strong. Eels will be hungry to get back at piara for there loss and I pick them in another game under a goal but could either way.

Good luck to both teams

Wooooo weeeee

Great write up Whitey.
League

Dm vs eels, this will be a cracker. I think dm will win just because all the big guns are back. But if eels win it wouldnt surprise me as the eels are no joke. It is good to see one of these sides go to c2 as they have had a life in c3, congrats and good luck.

Res

Eels v cott, i think cott will win only because they will be stacked with league players.

Goodluck all teams

Grade: C3
Ellenbrook 11.5-71 lost to Dianella 14.13-97

Grade: C3R
Ellenbrook 8.19-67 defeated Cottesloe 4.1-25

Grade: WCE Colts
Jandakot 13.9-87 defeated Ellenbrook 6.6-42

Well done to Dianella on the win to get into the GF & promotion to C2. They came out after being 4 goals down at 1/4 time to really turn the game on its head in the 2nd quarter.

Commiserations to Cottesloe who were only 19 points down at 3/4 time and still right in the game - was a great contest.

I suppose Ellenbrook will be happy there Reserves are in another grand final. Wonder if they have worked out yet that reserves don't get the club in the higher grades? :)
