Well what would you know last weekend MrM (with Nostradamus like prediction) said that the gap between the top 5 and the bottom 5 would continue to grow. Well didn't it just and MrM think it is too hard a task for those currently outside the top 5 to make up that gap.
We do have a nice relegation battle on our hands though and it could make for some excitement as we head into these last few rounds.

Code hopping like Mr Hayne right now, but we saw Queensland last night get a win over New South Wales, and it delights MrM when Queensland win because they have one of the ALL time great post victory chants. It's nearly as good as Perth Scorchers victory song...if you haven't heard it, you're missing out.

Alrighty, let us have a look at some football.

Collegians v Hamersley Carine @Dalkeith Oval

If either of these two sides want to play finals football this season then they need to win this weekend, a loss and it's season over. Collegians are struggling with depth at the moment as injuries and university holidays have meant their playing stocks have taken a hit. Hamersley Carine would be disappointed with how they have played this season. Coming from A grade you'd expect a better effort, but it hasn't to be. Would be a coin flip here, but I think Collegians can get it done.
Collegians by 2 goals

Mt Lawley v Kingsway @Hamer Park 1 MOTR

MrM has decided that due to lack of better options this is this weekends Match Of The Round.

Mt Lawley would be looking for a win here as they try to maintain there position in the Top 5. A win and things can open up for them and every other side in the Top 5. Kingsway, it's simple for them as well, keep winning and they can finish in the Top 2, lose and anything can happen. I think it should be a good contest with plenty to play for. MrM goes the upset.
Mt Lawley by 2 goals

Maddington v Wanneroo @Harmony Fields

Maddington have put in some improved performances of late as they look to avoiding relegation. MrM isn't sure what there clubs future holds but if they can stay in B Grade it would be a massive boost. Wanneroo will be looking to keep things rolling on as they look to put pressure on those above them on the ladder. Should be a tight game, but Wanneroo to get the job done.
Wanneroo by 5 goals

Kelmscott v Swan Athletic @John Dunn Memorial Park

Kelmscott copped a hiding last weekend (probably too many people had a big one with Barry Hall this previous evening), can they field two sides this weekend.
Swan Athletic will be out to maintain their form this weekend looking to hold onto third spot on the ladder (or push to 2nd given MrM's predictions) they will cruise here.
Swan Athletic by 10 goals

Stirling v North Fremantle @Richard Guefli Reserve

Stirling barely offered up any resistance last weekend as Wanneroo steamrolled them, they need a better showing here against a side that's taken all before them. North Fremantle are the best side by far and should be out to make another statement showing so. The will do as they please here.
North Fremantle by 10 goals

Good luck to all sides this weekend. Let's hope the weather holds off and it's played in the right spirit.

Thanks for Kicking things off Mr M! It appears you may be slightly out on some of your facts. kingsway currently hold a 2 game buffer in 2nd spot, so the Ath lads won't be able to take it for this week at least, unless 8 points are on offer. Anyway... to the tips

Hamersley by 3 goals
Kingsway by 3 goals
Wanneroo by 12 goals
Swan Ath by 8 goals
North Freo by 10 goals

2 Games and 31% effectively equals 3 game diff between 2nd & 3rd

Collegians to win only as it is at Home by 21 points
Kingsway to consolidate equal top by 36 points
Maddington at home is completely different to Maddington away but wont make a difference. Wanneroo by 30 points
Kelmscott to get a few back from last week (Funeral) and Swan Ath to lose a few (UK Cricket trip) - i'm tipping Kelmscott to finally field a legitimate team and win by 13 points
North Freo by 66 points over a soon to be relegated Stirling

Good Luck to all involved and try and stay dry!!

Ahhh what a time to be alive. With only 5 games left, we will start to see who the real contenders are. We start with Mt Lawley taking on a top 2 team but in thr coming weeks we will see the top 5 playing each other which ultimately might show who is legit in the top 5 or who is wasting space. Hopefully the weather comes in the evening and the games are played in some good conditions. Here are my tips

Collegians to put hamersley out of there misery in a real close one. 4 points collies
Mt Lawley to show they are legit. 2 goal win and to also open up the ladder for the top 5
Wanneroo to continue there recent form. 7 goal win
Swan ath by 4 goals over kelmy. Kelmy at home is a different team especially if they can get some players back from previous weeks
North freo by 5 goals. Stirling to push the maggies but there depth to once again show and be run over.

On a side note, chooka24 yiu didnt reply to my questions. These were legitimate questions and no funny stuff but im sure the readers would love to know what happened last week. Good luck all. Enjoy ya froths

The Great, I think you misconstrued my statement. I said they could push to 2nd (push, as in close the gap) as Kingsway will ultimately lose this weekend...Just needed something to back up my tips.
Should be a good finish though.

Ahh Mr M, my apologies, I comprehend what was intended now by Mr M's write up. The next 4-5 weeks should be interesting with the top 4-5 playing a number of games against each other. Should be an exciting finish indeed!

would be lovely if some certain people in this forum could actually tip, instead of holding grudges against certain clubs but none the less lets get on with these tips.

Collegians will have to much class for hamersley, the college boys by 3 goals.
Mt Lawley will struggle in the wet, and it will be Kingsway who show their class. The roos by 6 goals
Wanneroo will be pushed by maddington in the wet, but they will win. JUST. Wanneroo by 2 goals
Kelmscott will push swan ath this week, but in the rain the big bodies of swan ath will prove important. Swan Athletic by 4 goals.
North Freo to absolutely obliterate a poor Stirling side. The rain is the only thing that may save them, and even that will only be for a few goals. Maggies by 15 Goals.

I hope you aren't referring to MrM BootHead.

I'm happy with my 5/5 tips. #Nostradamus

Well what a round of results we saw.
North Fremantle and Swan Ath showed some dominance
Collegians kept their slim finals hope alive
Mt Lawley did enough to prove MrM right and Wanneroo ran over Maddington.

Just before we get into MrM weekend did we all happen to cast our eyes over the ladder quickly ? Swan Ath managed to catch up to Kingsway percentage and even passed them. I can see Swan Ath pushing for that top 2 spot this weekend...

MrM enjoyed a fairly fruitful trip down to Maddington as he was looking for wins and some good canteen service. MrM watched half the Colts game early in the day and good to see they got a good win, they obviously started playing well when MrM left.

As MrM arrived at Maddington you could sense that it was going to be a good day. It's a pity that Maddington do not have a Colts side, MrM would have loved to spend more time down there as it's the last time MrM will ever visit Harmony Fields. MrM still cannot fathom why clubs can't field Colts sides, but that's a topic for another day.

Well MrM was greeted with a good welcoming sign on the canteen windows as he was looking for something to satisfy his large appetite, but it was footy I was after, the hot chips and hamburger special would wait until later.

MrM wished he went and got the food from the canteen so he didn’t have to witness one of the scrappiest games of Reserves football he has seen, Wanneroo did managed to do enough to win though which is always pleasing to see.
MrM ventured to the canteen once more to get the McCracken burgher combo. A burger and chips all for $10.
Good service, good burger and good chips MrM will miss the Harmony Fields canteen. 8/10
Pity Mr McCracken didn’t offer MrM free beverages, he would have run with that offer.

Time for the League game and Wanneroo jumped out of the blocks and got a great start as they were up by 6 goals at quarter time. Maddington managed to peg that margin back in the 2nd quarter as Wanneroo only led by a few kicks at the main break.
In the second half though Wanneroo managed to steady the flow and walk away winners by nearly 10 goals.
Well done to the Maddington player who took a screamer as well, was great to see.

MrM would like to thank Phil McCracken for the hospitality and for the gentleman MrM had the honour of meeting as well, what a interesting gent he was. He said they cannot wait to go to Piara Waters because they have said they may still be able to offer some $$$ towards players when they merge...interesting indeed.
