We are now two thirds of the way through the season and MrM is ready to make one of the all time great predictions in that, I cannot see the Top 5 changing. That's right folks those sides currently in the top 5 will occupy those spots after Round 18. Will the order stay the same? Well MrM isn't so sure on that, there is still plenty of football to come. As for the bottom 5, well it's hard to see any of those sides making a run.
Depth is the key with all sides in the Top 5 having Reserves and Colts also in finals contention. Although MrM may not be here for finals, we do know that it should be close.
In some more exciting news it's Ladies Day this weekend and MrM normally thrives in these circumstances. MrM has bought the finest cologne for the occasion in a bid to entice a potential Mrs Mysterious. As MrM goes on the hunt, it will be interesting to see whether or not he can maintain his current form on this special day.
While MrM sits and ponders what could be, let us have a look at this weekend’s fixtures.
Kingsway v Maddington @Kingsway Reserve
A big weekend for Kingsway here, can they continue to win as they look to solidifying there ladder position. If they keep winning it will add pressure onto North Freo to keep on winning, a loss and they open it up for the two sides below them. It is also a big weekend for Maddington with a win needed to push them out of relegation talk, if results go their way, if they can win then they won’t even be in the 8th spot by the week’s end. I think should be a good contest, but Kingsway to good here.

Swan Athletic v Collegians @Fawell Park
Swan Ath are another club needing a win this weekend, or risk falling down the ladder as they have a few sides chasing them. They cannot afford to slip up, but it won’t be easy against a Collegians side that is desperate to win if they want to play finals. Collegians have stalled in recent weeks as Injuries and depth start taking their toll. They will need to bring there A game this weekend, but Swan Ath at home could be too good.
Ps where has “Any Plum Any Pud” gone?

North Fremantle v Kelmscott @Gil Fraser Oval
It is not a hard scenario for North Fremantle, win and they will keep top spot on the ladder. They have played good football this season and will not want to drop a game here, one they should win. Kelmscott looked quite good this past weekend and I expect them to cause North Freo some issues. I think it will be a good game of football, but the Magpies to get a win.
North Fremantle by 5 goals
Mt Lawley v Hamersley Carine @Hamer Park 1 MOTR
Due to a lack of better options, and with this being an 8 point game, it is this weekends Match Of the Round.
Mt Lawley is flying with the “Brothers of Destruction” looking good at the moment, even if it is one lonely brother doing all the heavy lifting. They pose as a danger for sides come finals, but they need keep winning as this game is as important as any. Hamersley have been inconsistent all season and perhaps not having a home ground is hurting them and moral. If they are any hope of playing finals they will need to win this weekend, a loss and it is goodbye finals hopes.
Mt Lawley by 3 goals
Wanneroo v Stirling @Wanneroo Showgrounds
MrM has seen Wanneroo play for two weeks now and it is clear, they play better when he is around. A big game this weekend as MrM cannot remember a time when Wanneroo have lost Ladies Day (A finer selection of ladies wearing hoodies and ugg boots you’ll never see). They will need to keep on winning if they are still hoping for the double chance come finals. Stirling will be desperate for a win seeing as they are facing the prospect of relegation. It will be a hard task away from home in front of a largely parochial crowd, but they will fall short this weekend.
Wanneroo by 5 goals
That is it folks, stay tuned for MrM write up post game, as he is locked and loaded for a big one.
Also because I have not mentioned before, it is Top5 v Bottom 5 this weekend. So look for the gap to grow.
