Well how come nobody pointed out to MrM this weekend that all sides in the top 5 v all sides outside the top 5?
All sides currently inside the Top 5 did as they needed to do and won thus cementing their position for at least the next few weeks.
MrM did as you do on a Saturday in Australia and traveled to watch some football with some friends, by friends MrM means himself and the sweet sounds of the radio on 1080 6IX. MrM would have loved to play, however due to contractual restrictions with sponsors, MrM decided against pulling the boots on. A quick drive-by and a wave to Phil, who would have been shuddering in those conditions, if not drowned in the rain, as MrM could see no sight of the great man, I do hope you are ok.
A car trip is always fun, even more so when you get a sleep in due to no Colts but MrM was definitely surprised when he strolled into the ground to see no Reserves game being played. Given MrM encountered some bad traffic along the way he was late and missed the chance to see why no game was being played.
Rumours started to spread as to why no game was being played, but we all know MrM does not deal in rumours, only facts, but facts are MrM knows one club was in the right and one club in the wrong and it is disappointing to see that despite what you hear, some things never change. By the end it actually turned into a he said, she said, type scenario which lead to laughter from MrM.
It did give a good chance for MrM to head upstairs into the clubrooms and enjoy himself a beverage and a hot chips. Can I just say MrM thinks Kelmscott’s facilities are first class and your hot chips absolutely hit the spot, so much so it was all anyone wanted to eat 8.5/10.
The League game was actually quite an exciting affair with Kelmscott looking like they were going to run away with the game from the early outset, 2 yellow cards did halt their momentum somewhat, and so did only starting with 1 player on the bench for the first 15 minutes.
Wanneroo managed to peg the margin back and lead at quarter time, where MrM thought they were going to remain for the rest of the day, to Kelmscott’s credit they did not and they managed to hit the lead as it seesawed throughout the afternoon. Nothing overly exciting to report from the game at all, it was just a good contest for the football. In the end Wanneroo got the win on a bleak and miserable afternoon.
Kelmscott will definitely win a few games before the seasons end as the 22 who played on the weekend, looked as good as MrM had seen (mind you, MrM has only seen 1 game this season...) It is just a shame the players did have a few games taken off them due to administration issues which is NO fault of the player, so they should feel let down in all of this.
