After this weekend we shall be a third of the way through the season can you believe that? One third of the way through the season and MrM has yet to hear any feedback in regards to some of the most important matters that are facing the West Australian community football community. “But MrM I do not know what you are talking about” you may say. Well I am obviously talking about the state of the Hot Chip campaign that MrM has been running for a few seasons now. In a day and age where potatoes are so readily available, it is crazy that people are not jumping on this big money earner.
If you do have any feedback please let MrM know so he can cross certain clubs of his list, the list of MrM, a list you do not want to make.

In better news MrM has finally settled into life at Georgetown, and MrM may even be here long enough to witness the impeachment of a President. Much like Morty Seinfeld was impeached under dubious circumstances, the great President here may well be also. Forget what you hear on the news folks, this is serious business.
Let us look at this weekend’s games.

Mt Lawley v Wanneroo @Hamer Park1

Well I checked the local weather guide and it is expected to pour with rain, so although I will not be there to witness it, I do hope Mt Lawley have fixed that drainage problem from last season where 0.05ml of rain fell, yet puddles covered the oval. Mt Lawley has been a bit up and down this season, so they haven’t been able to get any momentum thus far. If the “Brothers of Destruction” aren’t firing then who will for the Hawks. Wanneroo has managed to piece together a few wins, but are still yet to really be convincing winners from all reports. Should be a wet one at Hamer, but I think Wanneroo can get it done.

Maddington v North Fremantle @Harmony Fields

I am sure the boys at Maddington will be disappointed in how they have started the season they would have expected a better showing than 1-4. They face a good quality opposition here though which may show how big the gap is from the top half to the bottom half. North Fremantle are flying at the moment and are looking like the side to beat, although MrM said that a few season ago and it wasn’t to be for them. If they keep playing how they have been playing I do not expect Maddington to get close. North Freo should win here.

Kelmscott v Collegians @John Dunn Memorial Park

IF you cannot field a Colts side, you forfeited a Reserves side this past weekend, what hope do you have, should be allowed to continue till Round 9, then afterwards everyone awarded a 90-1 win in League and Reserves. Collegians will be a little disappointed with how they have started the season, but still plenty of time to fight back. They should get a win here.
Collegians by 8 goals

Kingsway v Hamersley Carine @Kingsway Reserve MOTR

A great chance for both these sides to see where they are at as both are currently sitting 4-1, I expect that this will be a good game which is why it is Match Of The Round.
Kingsway are playing some good football at the moment and will be confident of keeping that up for the season as they are looking strong right across the grades. Not getting too far ahead of themselves is the real key here as they should look to cement a spot in the top 5. Hamersley have surprised MrM so far this season and are looking like a real chance again, it will be a good test for either side here. I think Kingsway will be too strong in the wet weather though.
Kingsway by 2 goals

Stirling v Swan Athletic @Richard Guefli Reserve

It is fair to say Stirling haven’t been able to string together 100 minutes of consistent football so far this season which is why they are sitting on the ladder where they are. If they can do that against a good Swan Ath side this weekend, then they are capable of causing an upset. Swan Ath, just need to keep doing as they are at the moment and that is winning. If they lose a game here, could slip away from the top group of the ladder. Swan Ath should get the win here though despite the weather and best efforts of Stirling.
Swan Athletic by 5 goals

Good luck all. Bring your flippers if you are at Hamer this weekend, I shudder to think what the ground will be looking like if that drainage problem is still there.
