Nearly one third of the way through the season and it is pretty clear to see the gulf between the contenders and pretenders emerging. MrM will give the benefit of the doubt to those who are listed in the Pretenders column, but do not keep MrM waiting for you shall feel the full wrath. You will never guess what MrM has been up to, spreading the word of the hot chip love to our great friends in the US of A, they are amazed by these hot chips.
In shocking news though MrM may be on the return home sooner rather than later. This isn’t due to deportation issues, but due to MrM answering the call of many to return and help the club out with playing stocks this weekend. I have heard Wanneroo are missing an astonishing 53 players this weekend due to injury and a concert. Desperate times do call for desperate measures so it should surprise nobody that MrM has indeed been called upon, unfortunately MrM may have to decline the offer as the 31 hour trip home may be a little too much for this great to handle.
MrM has also become aware of some shocking news indeed, with a player subject to appear before Kangaroo Court caught offending once again. As this is a repeat offender, efforts must be made to stamp out this type of behaviour, or his penalty may be doubled. MrM knows you’re listening, so be aware...
Let us have look at this weekend’s games.
Swan Athletic v Kelmscott @Fawell Park
Swan Ath could get their Colts to play both Reserves and League and still get a win here, although percentage is important, so I think they will go in looking for a big win. Kelmscott, well what to do, the only reason teams will play them is for a percentage boost otherwise you can imagine nobody would look forward to playing them. Swan Ath to kick some ATH
Swan Athletic by 15 goals
Kingsway v Mt Lawley @Kingsway Reserve
This game should show us where Mt Lawley stands this season. Kingsway have started the season quite well but haven’t faced anybody currently inside the top 5 so this game should prove a good test for them. They will need to stop MrM’s favourite “Brothers of Destruction” but they managed to do so in last season’s finals. Mt Lawley, well a good chance for them to come out here and prove themselves as they have had some indifferent form. Can they stop Kingsway getting the ball out of the midfield and supply to their mobile forward line? MrM thinks Kingsway should be too good here.

Hamersley Carine V Collegians @Percy Doyle Reserve MOTR
I fully concur with your statement here Boothead, this is definitely Match Of The Round.
Hamersley have managed string together a few wins now and are looking like they have what it takes to continue to move up the ladder. They will need to bring their best this week as Collegians have shown they too are capable of getting the job done against some tough opposition. Both of these sides have a few good young gents who do like to run and carry, it is just a pity on a smaller ground they may not be able to. Hamersley should get the win here.

Wanneroo v Maddington @Wanneroo Showgrounds
With plenty still left to prove Wanneroo will need to bring their A game here if they are to get a win this weekend. From all reports the last two weeks they have gone through the motions and got a win but will need to make sure they are on the ball against a Maddington side that can throw up a surprise or two. Maddington haven’t won as many games as they would have liked, but that means little as they have played some good quality sides. I think it will be a tough battle at Wanneroo on Saturday, but the Roos will get a win.

North Fremantle v Stirling @Gil Fraser Oval
Everyone loves some night football and I am sure the crowd down at North Fremantle will as well. They are playing some good football at the moment, and I expect that to stay the same this weekend, but I do expect Stirling to cause some headaches. Stirling haven’t played as bad as their ladder position suggests but will need to avoid a slow start if they are any chance. North Freo should get the win under lights here.
North Fremantle by 6 goals
Best of luck to all this weekend, hopefully clubs aren’t missing too many players due to this concert.
