Well what an interesting week it has been, plenty of chatter about the state of a certain B Grade, even from the other side of the world MrM has been able to hear some rumours. For those long time subscribers of MrM, you will know one thing, MrM does not dabble in rumours so we shall stick to facts and not limit ourselves to #FAKENEWS. I am sure all have been dealt with in a fair and due process, if not they are welcomed to front Kangaroo Court where their actions will be judged and punished upon.
Leading on from that MrM does have a few facts. Fact is a certain member, from a certain club, that wears yellow and black and hails from wine region failed to front his Kangaroo Court hearing and his punishment will be determined at a later date.
In better news the Australian Prime Minister will be visiting MrM in the next few days. This will truly be an honour for MrM, as this will only be the 5th Prime Minister that has ever got to meet MrM. However this is the first international visit MrM has ever had. Can you imagine MrM and Mal tearing it up in the nation’s capitol with Donald, sounds like a great time to me, who wants in?
Alright let’s get into this weekend’s games.
Collegians v Swan Athletic @Dalkeith Oval
What a good game we have here to kick off Round 4. Collegians would be disappointed they haven’t been able to continue their good start to the season after a good win Round 1, have fallen to teams look to play finals in the past 2 weeks. They get another good chance here to redeem themselves against a side that is looking good in the early part of the season. Swan Ath won’t be happy dropping one at home to Hamersley last week but face a tough competitor in Collegians here. Both sides can move the ball very quickly, but I think Collegians will get the win at home here.
Collegians by 1 goal
Maddington v Kingsway @Harmony Fields
The bulls have made a respectable start to the season but will need to start turning those good efforts into wins. They are capable of mixing it with the better teams but across the season depth could become a problem for this side. Kingsway got themselves off to a flyer last week, 9 goals in the first term is outstanding, but MrM is not sure what to make of the final half fade out. I will give Kingsway the benefit of the doubt though as they will win here.
Kingsway by 4 goals
Kelmscott v North Fremantle @John Dunn Memorial Park
Well it is a home game so perhaps Kelmscott will be able to field 44 players this Saturday. From all reports they do not look like a side that is even capable of putting up a winning score so I do not see that changing this weekend. North Fremantle, well I hope they have a good game and no indiscretions are forthcoming their way. The less time MrM puts into this the better.
North Fremantle by 10 goals
Hamersley Carine v Mt Lawley @Percy Doyle MOTR
Well both these sides are sitting 2-1 and this game will have a big shaping of how the ladder may look at season’s end, which is why the is Match Of The Round.
Hamersley will be looking to keeping that train rolling on after a good win against a much fancied opponent last week. They are at their makeshift home and it is a relatively small ground which may assist the bigger bodies of the Mt Lawley outfit. Mt Lawley got back on track last weekend with a good win, but what happened to the “Brothers of Destruction” only one brother got it done last weekend, and it was the lesser of the brothers so to speak, the Phil to your Peter Matera, the Trevor to Ian and Greg Chappell, good work though. I think Mt Lawley will get a good win here.
Mt Lawley by 3 goals
Stirling v Wanneroo @Richard Guefli Reserve
The Saints will not want a slow start like last weekend but they will be buoyed by a good finish to the game. If they can replicate their last half for the full 100 minutes this weekend then they should feel they will be right in the game. Wanneroo got the job done last weekend, but will need to be better this weekend if they wish to walk away victors. I think Wanneroo is just getting warmed up as they await the big inclusion heading their way! In the meantime, they will win here.
Wanneroo by 4 goals
Good luck all. MrM is over and out, it’s nearly fun time at the dorms, after 10.30pm on a Wednesday is when it all kicks off. MrsM, feel free to stop on by Room 16 B.
