Well after MrM had a night out at the local watering hole the other evening, I placed a ban on adding to OZFooty whilst consuming beverages. MrM will stand by his comments though never back down from a fight (behind a keyboard at least). The only apology I will issue is the fact I haven’t previewed this weekends’ games sooner as MrM was predisposed.
MrM was lucky enough to watch Washington defeat Atlanta in the NBA Playoffs yesterday evening and it only set MrM back about a full years wage, so was quite happy about that. Despite the fact MrM has no interest in either side, it was a pleasant experience especially when MrM
MrM is thoroughly enjoying his time in Washington D.C and word has reached here that apparently the HUGE inclusion Wanneroo are expecting is now relocating to the area to make this official. They will have the ability to put up large scores each week...so watch this space!
Let us have a look at this weekend’s games.
Swan Athletic v Hamersley Carine @Fawell Park
Swan Ath are looking like the side to beat in this early stage of the season. They have two good wins over some handy opposition and that should give them plenty of confidence here as they look to start the season off well, something they didn’t do last season. Hamersley Carine got their first win of the season last weekend and should take plenty from that, although I think they will be around the mark this season this weekend will give an indication of where they do sit. Swan Ath should be too good at home though.
Swan Athletic by 4 goals
North Fremantle v Collegians @Gil Fraser Oval
This match was close to match of the week as both sides will be looking to atone for a loss last weekend against sides who will be looking to play finals this season. North Freo should be very disappointed with the results from last weekend and no doubt as they are back at home they should feel confident of getting back on track this weekend, but Collegians are no easy task. Collegians fell short against Wanneroo last weekend, but from all reports looked quick when they had the football, something that should assist them this weekend. I think North Freo at home will get it done in a close one.
North Fremantle by 2 goals
Mt Lawley v Maddington @Hamer Park 1
Well given Maddington defeated Stirling and then Stirling defeated Mt Lawley, Maddington should win this game easily should they not? Well MrM thinks funny things happen in football, but I cannot see that happening this weekend. Mt Lawley should be steaming after losing last weekend and I can only hope that Maddington can control the “Brothers of Destruction” this weekend. Maddington to their credit, shouldn’t be counted out, but they will need an improved performance form last weekend if they are too win this weekend. Mt Lawley will win though.
Mt Lawley by 5 goals
Kingsway v Stirling @Kingsway Reserve MOTR
Well it’s a little rivalry that has started and both are coming of good wins last weekend, therefore its Match of the Round.
Kingsway earned a hard fought win last weekend (Good one MrM). They should feel relatively fresh though as they look to add to that tally this weekend. It won’t be easy though as Stirling’s confidence should be sky high after toughing out a win last weekend. Coming from behind against Mt Lawley will mean Stirling believe they can match it with the teams looking to play finals. This weekend will be a tough match and I can see Kingsway winning the game in the midfield battle giving their forwards first use. Kingsway will be too strong here.
Kingsway by 2 goals
Wanneroo v Kelmscott @Wanneroo Showgrounds
Well MrM is not sure what to write up for this game. These two sides have had some tough games in the past, but both sides are looking vastly different from those previous battles. Wanneroo should feel confident after a good win last weekend and back in front of a home crowd where they will want to make up for Round 1’s loss. Kelmscott, well even MrM doesn’t know what is going to happen or what side will turn up for this game. They have been blown out in previous weeks and MrM cannot see why that will not happen again this weekend. Wanneroo at home will get the win here.
Wanneroo by 10 goals.
Good luck to all, hope the weather is treating everyone well. It is currently forecast for thunderstorms here, but the weekend is looking FINE.
