I saw this on another thread:

"NO Colts age players players, REGARDLESS of where they come from OR how long they have been at Gosnells, pay membership fees. This is not something new - it is the second season that this policy has been in place."

I was wondering whether or not it is against the Amateur By-Laws.

What does anyone else think?

Did u not read the rest of the thread ? Its not a new thing other clubs have done it before and are currently doimg it I believe certainly lynwood is one that has done it publicly for 2-3 years and advertised it on ozfooty. I was involved with a club 7 or 8 years ago that didnt charge under 18 players fees and that was all cleared with the league

from memory Lynwood don't charge fees if it's your first year at the club either. I personally wouldn't call it a payment, they aren't saying if you come along you won't have to pay fees it's open to everyone.

I am pretty sure that such schemes need to be run via the WAAFL first for approval.

I am aware of at least 3-4 clubs that do this so I would suggest that the WAAFL have deemed this to be acceptable in a club's efforts to increase their Colts' numbers.

As long as it's open to all players it's fine.

Its common practice at a lot of clubs to help gets colts aged players there.
