Very happy down at Canning Vale with funding being passed for new facilities! No more green sheds for us in season 2018!

It is a tragedy what has been done to Kenwicks home ground. The whole ground and it's facillities have been bulldozed and what has replaced it is an absolute joke. There is nothing around the oval at all and their club room must be nearly 100 metres away as part of a community centre, absolutely no atmosphere at all and there is no way you could wTch the game from the club rooms at the community centre as it is just too far away. Mills Park had more game day atmosphere than any oval in Amateurs including Gosnelks in my opinion. It had seating around the fence all the way around the oval, a great scoreboard and cars able to park all around the oval created a brilliant atmosphere and the club rooms were right on top of the oval and they were huge and in their hey the club was packed 7 days a week even in the off season. It had a TAB and one of the biggest darts clubs in Perth that packed the club rooms out on Monday and Tuesday nights. You really felt like you were playing at a real football venue. What is there now is soulless and it would have to be now one of the worst venues in Amateurs.

Is the old tin shed gone?
Gees the TAB & bar used to get a fair work out after Friday Night training...and that was just by me! :pinch:

Interesting comments about lack of atmosphere and being soulless on game day considering we haven't played a footy game on the main oval yet. some of your facts are a bit exaggerated but until we have a game there it's impossible to guess how it is all going to pan out.

I played for Kenwick in the 90s and it is very sad to see those great facillities bulldozed. There was no better place in Perth to watch footy than at Mills Park especially on a cold wet day you could be inside watching the game and right on top of the action. What is there now is a shadow of what wS formerly there. There is no seating or cover or scoreboard . There is no way to watch the game from the community centre it is too far away.

Yes it was sad to see the old facilities come down but given there hasnt been a game at the new oval yet I am not sure how you have come to the conclusions you have perhaps if you were still part of the club you would know that your concerns are being addressed. Past players are always welcome to come back and provide constructive input.
