They are also happy to serve the cheapest beer and spirits at any footy club in WA, check it out if you haven't been there on game day.

So is it regarded as remuneration?
How I see it a player is being rewarded with a monetary value for pluing at that particular club.

Freofortheflag,

according to the oxford dictionary the definition for remuneration is as follows:

Money paid for work or a service:

So, if Lynwood offers no fees to any new member for their first year playing there, how is that money paid for work or a service.

I think its a good community spinner, If your local and never played with Lynwood come and have a look, it wont cost you anything to try the place out, and if you come back the following year you pay the same fees as everyone else at the club.

PH i also think it is a great idea and definitely not knocking the club for it! Moat clubs could not afford to be able to do this.
But for Kelmscott to get done a few years ago for a fuel card than surely the ammos wouldnbe looking into everything.

Piara waters football club have reappointed Andy Leinasars as C3 league coach from last year. Steven Woods as reserve coach and Brendyn Hayes returns as E3 coach.

With preseason training to start next week and having a quite few guys already registered we are looking to have a big impact this year.

I think you answered your own question there FFTF, Kelmscott gave their players Fuel Cards.....Lynwood gives them nothing, so there is nothing to worry about.

I believe if a club is financial enough to support this process, then full points to the committee for being brave. There is no point being a middle of the grades amateur club that is stuck in the same grade for years going no where with lots of cash in the bank......That doesn't help improve your football club

A lot of clubs have free sausage sizzles after their first training.
Is getting a free beer after a game being remuneration. Some opposition clubs even given you a beer token after a game, can you be done for renumerating an opposition player.
New players get a free polo shirt or clothing when they join at a lot of clubs.

Lets be serious you would hope the WAAFL are targeting clubs that are renumerating players that are being recruited for their ability, not a club that is offering players of all abilities the opportunity to play football for free. The WAAFL are struggling enough to win that battle.

Those are very cheap fees PH. Affiliation fees are close to 5k per team arent they! Must have some awesome sponsors to cover those costs.
Paying umpires is also a massive expense each week and in lower grades.

Good luck to you and ur club in 2017
