Teams and players are wanted for the Spring Football comp starting in October.
Spring Football W.A runs the 12-14 a side Australian Rules comp in Perth W.A
Spring Football has been running for 20 years.
Spring Football starts in 2016 on Sunday October rd and runs for 9 weeks. The games are played with 12 a side but can be made 14 if both captains agree.There is an unlimited interchange bench. They are played over 2x 20 minute halves with all games played on the same day at the same place. Venues used last year included City Beach Oval, Cottesloe Oval and Gosnells Oval.

The rules are the same as Australain Rules Football. There are no boundary throw ins as the last player to touch it concedes a kick. The games a played on a full size Oval which makes for a less physical game and usually the games are played in good spirit.

There is 3 divisions which will cater for players of all levels. All equipment is supplied including jumpers if your team needs them.

Team nomination are still being taken for the coming season. The season kicks of on Sunday October 2 at Gosnells Oval . It then moves to Cottesloe Oval on Sunday October 9 the and 16th and 23rd. All details are on our Facebook site.

Still plenty of time to get your teams into the Spring Comp. Prizemoney in Div 1 is $1000. The comp starts with a round of fixtures at Gosnells Oval on October 2nd. Go to our Facebook site to enter your team or enquirer about playing.

Sounds like a brilliant concept for old farts who still love to have a kick and compete. Unfortunately for me my calves, hammys and knees are rooted. I'd be subbed out before the end of the first half.

Spring footy is full on Footy with full tackling but because it is 12/14 players a side on a full sized Oval there is far less tackles and much more open space than normal footy. There are a few veterans clubs that put teams in and a lot of the players player with their sons. In one game Alistair Picket played with his son and father.
