Well here we are, the final round after an interesting ride! It's been the wettest season for quite a while and I personally look forward to some better weather come finals! The top five is settled and relegation for Armadale confirmed, all that remains is for the top five to sort out who is playing who where next week.
Ellenbrook vs Nollamara
Nollamara were impressive in taking down top side Swan Valley last week and face another top five side in Ellenbrook. Plenty to play for as Nollamara are still an outside chance of taking top spot but more so for the Eels, they can't finish higher than fourth but home ground advantage in the Elimination Final is at stake. Hard to go past Nolla after last week but the Eels best footy has been good, should be a great game, Nolla by a few goals for mine.
Swan Valley vs Brentwood Booragoon
The Valley had a wake up call last week and will be looking to bounce back against the Bulldogs. Brentwood scare the hell out of Valley in Rd 9 and were unlucky to lose. With nothing to play for it's hard to see them beating the Valley on the rebound. Must note that it's nice of our neighbours Swan Ath to let us use their ground this week as ours has not stood up to the extra traffic and wet winter!
Manning Rippers vs Snesa
A disappointing season for SNESA, I thought they would be stronger. At least they have kept their colts on the park to provide depth for the future. I expect them to come back stronger next year. The Rippers conversely struggle for depth but their best footy is very good. They need to win to get a home final and they will.
Piara Waters vs Armadale
Pardon the pun but the Demons have had a season from hell, probably unlucky to lose a GF last year but have really struggled in the higher grade. Not sure if they lost players or were just not up to it. They will go back to C4 and have another crack. A proud club with around 100 years of history, I'm sure they'll bounce back. Piara are a real threat for the flag, all they know is that they'll be playing away in the Qualifying Final next week. The lack of opposition expected from Armadale may or may not work in their favour leading into the finals but they'll win by a lot.
Mosman Park vs Dianella Morley
Two clubs that were both in the finals race until the last few rounds. Both played some good footy and DM in particular pushed the top sides hard. Not much to play for except pride, with that in mind I'll tip Mossies at home.
Good luck to all, we'll know who's playing who by 5 o'clock and five sides will be planning mad Sunday/Monday! Enjoy the frothies lads and thanks for a good season.
