What a good weekend of football we just had.
Mt Lawley did what they needed to do to wrap up a finals berth. Swan Ath dented Kingsway's chances to jump into second spot. Collegians gave themselves every chance of finishing second and will need a big win next weekend as Wembley wrapped up top spot with a big win as
Tim "I have the weirdest yet most effective kicking action MrM has ever seen" Noakes launched himself into B Grade Goal Kicking lead.
As for Wanneroo...with Wembley's big win it means they are safe from relegation after a very tough season.

MrM awoke Saturday morning with a bit of a fever...OLYMPIC FEVER. After watching the Opening Ceremony MrM was full of excitement as he headed towards the football Saturday. After seeing a very even first quarter of football from the colts boys, it was very different in the second as North Freo took control. After a scintillating second quarter they were now 6 goals up at half time and leaving one North Freo player to say "How the EFF are you guys first on the ladder".
Wanneroo came out in the second half and played much better football to reduce the margin to a goal at 3 quarter time. The last quarter was a seesawing affair with both sides grabbing the lead at various stages. But with a goal with seconds left from Wanneroo, it ensured a draw. With results going Wanneroo's way, they wrapped up a top Two spot on the ladder. As for North Freo, they need a win, and results to go there way to play finals...

The Reserves turned out to be a close affair after another bad start from Wanneroo. They trailed 5 goals to 1 at quarter time before a gallant fight back to snatch the lead heading into the last quarter only to come up short falling down by 1 goal.

As this is Wanneroo's last home game, a big shout out to the canteen! They produced the goods with quality canteen service all season. We all know how much MrM loves his hot chips and they poured them out en masse. Well done and bravo.

The league game, well the less said about this from the Wanneroo perspective the better. They kicked two goals in the first quarter and did not kick one again until the last quarter as North Freo kicked plenty of goals into between to give themselves a victory. That's all MrM will say, as it was an otherwise meaningless game.
Looking forward to next weekends game and beginning of finals...MrM is excited by that.
