Thornlie Oval
Thornlie 12. 11 - 83
defeated
Ballajura 7. 6 - 48
1st vs. 3rd and Thornlie show why they are 16-0, with a couple of struggling teams to finish the home and away season look set to make it 18-0 whilst already securing top spot. Ballajura with a bit of work to do now with Canning Vale for next rounds clash who since dropping their colts side for the last 3 weeks have found a new level in their performance.
In the first term with a blustering wind going across the ground Thornlie put on a display kicking 4 goals and missing many more while Ballajura only managed a point. The second term became more a dog-fight with Thornlie having many opportunities and holding it in their half for the majority but unable to capitalise a goal for the quarter, Ballajura sneaking one in to kick their first goal against Thornlie for the season.
The second half was underway and Thornlie kicked another 4 goals to what seemed like the scoring end to Ballajura's 2. Last quarter Ballajura rolled the dice and kicked the first goal of the quarter and had looked to life, but then it was goal for goal after that and both sides ended the quarter with 4 goals each and Thornlie finished with a not so comfortable 35 point win over the gallant Ballajura team.
Gosnells Football Oval
Gosnells 26. 19 - 175
defeated
Lynwood Ferndale 7. 2 - 44
Lynwood really struggling now suffering their largest defeat for the year, but will be saved from relegation with their match scheduled for Swan View next week. Gosnells now look to set to finish 2nd spot so long as they win at least 1 of the last 2 games against CSP and High Wycombe, which considering never won a game last season is an incredible feat. Full credit to Gosnells because kicking 25 goals in any match is a big effort especially is less than ideal conditions.
Warnbro Sporting Complex
Warnbro Swans 6. 6 - 42
defeated by
Canning South Perth 8. 15 - 63
With the top 5 now secured Canning South Perth have made it through after missing out in 6th last year. Warnbro now I think will look to focus on their reserves side which I'd say are heavy favourites to make the GF this year. CSP a little inaccurate could have made it much easier for their-selves but take the chocolates and give themselves a chance for glory.
Scott Reserve
High Wycombe 6. 15 - 51
defeated by
Canning Vale 15. 8 - 98
When you see the score it looks as if CV did this convincingly, but if you consider it was 21 scoring shots to 23 the game looks like it could have been a whole lot closer. High Wycombe now to miss out on the finals while Canning Vale have a big opportunity to ruffle some feathers and royally batter Ballajuras confidence in the lead up to finals.
