It's Round 16 this weekend and it's definitely season on the line stuff for a few clubs this weekend. With 5 great games of B Grade WAAFL football this weekend you know that come 5pm Saturday you'll see everyone scrambling for their phones to see the scores. A few important games stand out for MrM.
Can Wembley hold onto too spot headed into finals, a win and it's very likely. It's a three way battle for reals fighting for Third spot, a loss could mean you miss that double chance altogether and even a home final.
We have Swan Athletoc breathing down the neck of any of those sides who slip up, although one win should secure it for anyone. Lastly we also have a Three way relegation battle and after this weekend we will have a better understanding of where everyone sits.
In good news, MrM has had a small win in the past week. The I.T department at work has unblocked OZfooty from its servers on the proviso that MrM and his Colleagues invite them to post working week beverages. MrM hasn't let the CFO know though (he's the man in charge of finances and work drinks- a true gent), so time will tell as to whether this becomes a regular occurrence, but for now we can all breath a sigh of relief MrM had a win, much like the WA Government did with its Roe 8 bid...although we can save that for another day.
Just before we launch into football, get ready for a specccccccciaaaallllll Olympics preview next week to. MrM has booked those 2 weeks off work, so he's bound to be a bit dreary eyed.
Alrighty it's football time, MrM is a certified baller and a bonafide champ AND YOU CAN'T TEACH THAT...
Collegians v Quinns Districts @Dalkeith Oval
Last time they met
Quinns District 4.4 (28) defeated by Collegians17.9 (111)
Collegians here need a good showing to prove to all that they are more than capable of a good showing come finals time, a good win here and it could vault them into third spot. Seeing as Uni holidays are nearly finished they should be back to full strength across the club and it's an important game for them. Quinns are sitting bottom of the ladder and will desperately need to win to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation, but it could all be too much as they have 3 tough task in 3 weeks. It won't be an easy game, but Collegians should walk away with a win here.

North Fremantle v Melville @Gil Fraser Oval
Last time they met
Melville 13.8 (86) defeated North Fremantle 11.10 (76)
Finals are out of the question for North Freo here, but that doesn't mean they won't be out to try and win every single remaining game. Their season started with promise but faded and wins here will put them in good stead come 2017, especially seeing as if results don't go their way, they are a slim chance of being relegated. Melville, well it's simple, keep winning and they will put pressure on others to try and avoid relgstion, lose, and it's a tougher road. I think it will definitely be a good game, but I'll put money on North Freo here.

Mt Lawley v Kingsway @Hamer Park 1
Last time they met
Kingsway 11.7 (73) defeated Mt Lawley 5.10 (40)
In a game that has potential to be Match Of The Round, this game between these two sides is an early final.
Mt Lawley has been playing some indifferent football of late, but will need to put up there best here if they are too walk away with a win. We all know their strength is the "Brothers of Destruction" so it's up to Kingsway to try and nullify that. Kingsway, they have a potent midfield and forward line themselves and will need to be on their game to defeat a strong Mt Lawley side here. It should be another great game but given its at Hamer Park, (bring your flippers Kingsway, light drizzle is predicted so the ground will be flooded) I'll go with Mt Lawley.

Wembley v Whitford @Pat Goodridge Reserve MOTR
Last time they met
Whitford 8.13 (61) defeated Wembley 8.9 (57)
If you had any doubt about this match and the importance of it for both sides, you're a either a fool, or just don't understand football. A massive game which is why this will be Match Of The Round.
Wembley, win and they can almost assure themselves of a week off in Round 1 of the finals, a loss and it's an exciting finish to the season as we see who will finish as minor premiers. Wembley as said many a time, are great all over and it will take a very good effort to defeat them, but Whitford could do just that. Whitford will be buoyed after last weekends Houdini win and give them plenty of confidence headed into this one. They may be evenly matched all over the field and with home field advantage on the line here come finals time, it's going to be all on the line. What a great game, Grand Final preview for mine and Wembley will here.

Wanneroo v Swan Athletic @Wanneroo Showgrounds
Last time they met
Swan Athletic 9.10 (64) defeated by Wanneroo 10.8 (68)
It's simple for Wanneroo here, win win win, that's all they need to do for the remainder of the season to assure themselves of not going down next season. They have had a few close losses, but they can't afford them here's they look to push their case to show why they should stay in B Grade. Swan Ath, they have a slim chance of playing finals and have shown some very good form of late to see them hoist themselves out of relegation and into finals. Do I think they could play finals? Yes. Will they? No as their finals chances will be snuffed out here as Wanneroo will win at home.

That's it ladies and gentlemen that's the Round 16 preview. Good luck for all this weekend, play football in the right spirit and support your volunteers and don't question those who are volunteering . (Looking at you those on the other side of the Mitchell Fwy).
