Well we are back at it again with some Round 14 action, as all games are must wins for every team. The race for the double chance come finals time heats up as well as the whole order for the Top 5 is still up for grabs. Each side in the Top 5 can produce something special on any given day, so it's sure to be an exciting finals series when we get to it.
As for those sides that sit outside the top 5 well they still have plenty of work to do themselves. With the opportunity to play finals almost gone from all those sides, each side is still a possibility to get relegated. It's going to be an exciting final 5 Rounds so get set everybody and buckle in for the fantastic ride.

In other good news, we have a Government now so we can all sleep easy, as before we could have all ended up in total anarchy.
MrM still has a job after fighting with the IT wizards at work who threatened to derail MrM's very existence. To those who were wondering it's clear to see some people just want to see the world burn as they have no desire to let MrM utilise work servers for none other than work material...go figure!

In bad news MrM's idol and confidant, Tony Galati, is back in the news this time for fighting some charges relating to potatoes. Let it go everyone, if potatoes were easier to come by perhaps Quinns could cook some hot chips for all instead of trying to blame the local council...

Alright, enough dribble, it's football time now.

North Fremantle v Quinns District @Gil Fraser Oval

Last time they met
Quinns District 10.7 (67) defeated by North Fremantle 11.12 (78)

The big question we all must ask is, what has happened to North Fremantle. They started the season so well, looked like they would take all before them, but have since slid and are now staring at the possibility of being in relegation conversation. They are more than capable of playing good football, so I expect them to put in a good showing. Quinns would take plenty of confidence out of a good win last weekend and with their season on the line this weekend they will definitely out to put on a good showing. It's definitely going to be a close contest, but given it's a home game for North Freo, I'll give the, the edge here.
North Fremantle by 2 goals

Melville v Swan Athletic @Melville Reserve

Last time they met
Swan Athletic 11.9 (75) defeated by Melville 12.10 (82)

Another important game for both of these sides here as they too have their season on the line and it could go either way. Melville have played some good football as of late and will need to continue that this weekend and for the remainder of the season if they are going to lift themselves off the bottom of the ladder. They face an uphill battle, but where there's a will there's definitely a way. Swan Ath, have also put up some very improved performances of late and have hit form at the right time. They will require to be at their best to get a win here, but they should be able to do that.
Swan Athletic by 2 goals

Wembley v Kingsway @Pat Goodridge Reserve

Last time they met
Kingsway 8.8 (56) defeated by Wembley 11.10 (76)

Wembley, even after last weekends loss still sit atop the ladder and are still MrM's favourite to go all the way in 2016. They are good all over and have plenty of depth throughout the whole club which will see feature prominently in September. They can't afford to look to far ahead though, as they will be facing teams who all want to prove why they can be considered contenders and it starts this weekend. Kingsway can't be counted out, a home final beckons for them as they look to cement themselves in 4th place, possibly even a double chance looms, but they will be to come up big this weekend, but Wembley may be too good by a touch.
Wembley by 4 goals

Wanneroo v Whitford @Wanneroo Showgrounds

Last time they met
Whitford 15.8 (98) defeated Wanneroo 5.4 (34)

Well this is it for Wanneroo. After slipping out of the finals race they need to put up a good showing this weekend, or they face the real risk of relegation. It's a home game and that usually brings a good showing as they face a tough task in a Whitford side hungry to win. Whitford, will be out to make sure they don't lose there grip on the top 2 of the ladder. They know Wanneroo will be no easy beats, but they should be confident of a win here. MrM isn't confident for them though, as I expect Wanneroo to come out firing here and cause the upset.
Wanneroo by 1 goal

Collegians v Mt Lawley @Dalkeith Oval MOTR

Last time they met
Mt Lawley 13.6 (84) defeated Collegians 6.8 (44)

Well, it's a big game for both clubs here (MrM says that a lot doesn't he?!) but with the possibility of a double chance on the line here MrM has decided this this will be this weekends Match Of The Round.

Collegians let a good chance slip last weekend to assert themselves and prove they are a genuine contender in finals as they dropped a game they should have won. They will be out to rectify that this weekend, but they face the side with the two best forwards in the competition. Mt Lawley have had a good campaign so far, and with the "Brothers of Destruction" they are a formidable opponent indeed. If they can get the ball down to them often enough then I expect they will cause Collegians a few headaches. In a match that will come down to the wire I expect Mt Lawley to come out with a win here.
Mt Lawley by 2 goals.

Good luck to all this weekend. I do like how one pundit last weekend thought MrM may have found himself a MrsM and given football entirely. That's not true, so MrM will do what he does best and try lurking around for some potential MrsM this weekend, look out Perth's inner city bars, MrM has heard good things about you.

Quality as always M

Surely North freo won't lose at home to Quinn's - obviously injuries have hurt NF but this is crucial to keep there slightest finals chance alive or avoid the relegation battle. NF to win by18 points

Swan Ath on a role but may have left there run to late especially as Collegians (5th) still need to play melville and Quinn's although swan Ath could win each of there last 5. Tricky oval at Melville but swan Ath should win to keep there faint finals hope alive. Swan Ath by 10 points

Wembley dropped a game last week that they were expected to win whilst Kingsway probably had there best win for the season in conditions that probably didn't suit. The top 5 is probably set but the ladder positions will certainly chop and change between now and season end.with games against collegians and mt lawley to follow a win for Kingsway would certainly give them confidence of a top 3 finish but I think Wembley will get it done in a close one by 5 points

Wanneroo's season is probably cooked but as a proud club they would like to shape the final 5 and it would start with a win against whitfords this weekend. I imagine with the rain around the oval at wanneroo starting to resemble a mud pit which is why I am tipping the home team to get the chocolates by 10 points

Cracking game that deserves MOTR with a result either way playing a big part in where these sides will finish. Collegians may be missing a few due to the normal Uni break but do play there home ground well. Even contest and I'm going out on a lim and predicting a draw

Good luck to all sides this weekend as we head towards the business end

Wanneroo Showgrounds are looking pristine compared to some other grounds I've seen this season.
They have held up very well.
