Thornlie doing enough at Ferndale park to get over the 8th place Lynwood/Ferndale. Not an overly high scoring affair given the oppurtunities but nonetheless Thornlie continue their dominant streak closing out 9 from 9 thus far.

Upset of the round. Great win by the Cougars, showing their win against Ballajura was no fluke.

Great write up BY. Spoke to an ex swan view and current canning play over the last couple days. Swan view apparently lost another half dozen to the mercantile league over the break. Canning had ladies day and played a scratch match amongst themselves. Not perfect but they are now more wins than losses and I am backing them for a big shot at it.

Thornlie continue on and would have to be planning their grand final day functions.

Gosnells pushing over HW much easier than expected. Watching them last time out vs canning I thought they were strong all over the ground. Depth too!

Ballajura doing what they should against CWP and it's probably relegation to them.

Canning vale big surprise packets. Getting their 5th win. Are Warnbro on the slide?

Can't wait for past players day at Canning next week. Will be big and a big game vs Thornlie who we have shown good fight against over the last few years.

Who knows what happens with promotion and relegation with Swan Views demise. Surely 3 teams come up from each of the low grades ??

Gee how does a club this higher a grade fold midseason ? What is the background to this happening, and has it been a progression from seasons before ?

I believe it means Swan View back to E grade (Assuming they don't fold altogether), the 9th C2 team gets relegated, and three from C4 to C3. It's the second time Swan View have done this in ten years, big task ahead for the people running the club.

Hard to see Swan View coming back. Once a club folds that is usually it. Can only think of one club in the last 20 years that has folded and then come back and that was Willeton who folded for 2 years before coming back.

Wanneroo/Kingsway joined the Mercantile FL, now known as the Metropolitan FL after leaving the SFL. They won the flag in their first year in the competition.
Willetton went into recess a year after leaving the SFL, but reformed and joined the Amateurs in 1999 as the Willetton Amateur Football Club.

did they join the mercantile for a year? There you go ... thought they just folded and then came back as Kingsway

Not sure if you are talking just Amateurs, but in Country footy Denmark reformed after about 8 years in recess, and have won a flag since, Tambellup folded for one and resumed, and have folded again.

On another note Ongerup made a Grand Final, were runners up, yet never resumed the next year, folded.
