We are back after a one week hiatus and we have an exciting Round of football upon us. By weeks end there could be a completely different make up of the 5 and who knows, the gap between them and the lower half of the ladder could increase, so it's exciting to indeed.
MrM got some much needed RnR over the long weekend and it was a good chance to see some local WAFL action, the football gods must have been determined for MrM to not watch any football, as after watching one game, the remaining two were called off. So MrM thought he'd try to catch in some football on the Monday...yet rain threatened to derail my plans, but not to be deterred MrM went along, rain, wind and all. The football was average, the hot chips were good though and it was wonderful to see they were pumping out by the bucket load.
It's 23 days until the election today and I'm sure you're all aware it's going to be a good battle. Mr Turnbull took time out from his campaign to visit people affected by the storms in NSW, whilst Mr Shorten was busy dodging and weaving questions by political journalists. It's definitely going to be a fun 23 days.
Alright, that's a weekly news wrap up. I got through the whole thing without mentioning T.Galati, or the new Aldi stores (apologies though I'm contractually obliged to do so).
It's time to embark on our weekly football journey.
Swan Athletic v North Fremantle @Fawell Park
This is it for Swan Ath, can they salvage anything from this season, or will the battle be too much to try and avoid relegation. A win this weekend would give them plenty of confidence especially against a North Freo side that has slipped up in recent weeks. North Freo on the other hand have let a good opportunity slip. Losing two games they should have been expected to win, sees them slightly in the Top 5 on a small percentage. It should be a good game at the Ath. Can Swan Ath win? Yes. Will they? MrM thinks perhaps yes, but I'll go with what I know here..
North Fremantle by 2 goals
Whitford v Mt Lawley @MacDonald Reserve MOTR
A loss for either side could see them fall outside the Top 5 and that's not where you want to be sitting. It's the battle of the big forwards and MrM is predicting an exciting affair which is why this is Match Of The Round.
Whitford were going along nicely until a loss last weekend saw them relinquish top spot on the ladder and as mentioned a loss this weekend would see them slide and could be placed outside the Top 5 altogether. They need to keep winning to prove why they are one of the better sides. Mt Lawley are in the same boat, a win here and they could propel themselves right into finals calculations, a loss and they may fall back into the pack. Both teams have big key forwards, so limiting the supply will be the key to a win. Whitford should get it done here though.

Melville v Collegians @Melville Reserve
In recent weeks Melville have put up a much improved performance as they attempt to avoid the relegation battle, this weekend will provide a greater test for them. If Melville can maintain there consistency then a few more wins are definitely not far away. They do however face a Collegians team with plenty to prove. Collegians look like a team that could really make an impact in the finals, getting there is a challenge in itself, but they are playing good enough football to do that. Collegians will want to bring there A game this weekend if they are to manage a win here and they should do just that.
Collegians by 4 goals
Quinns District v Kingsway @Ridgewood Park
This is a potential game breaker for both sides. Quinns should consider themselves every chance to get a win here, or they start to lose touch with those teams above them. They are desperate for a win and no doubt have plenty to prove. Kingsway, this is definitely a danger game for them. A win, will keep them inside the top 5, a loss could see them tumble outside the 5 and send a real dent in there finals ambitions. In the past this is a game where Kingsway would normally lose but they appear to have turned that around and are looking better for it. It will be a scrappy affair, but Kingsway are likely to walk away with the points here.
Kingsway by 3 goals
Wanneroo v Wembley @Wanneroo Showgrounds
After a few wins on the trot, those at Wanneroo are up and about and were full of confidence heading into the bye last weekend. If Wanneroo can continue to play as they have been then they are a real chance to pinch a victory here especially given the game is at home and in front of a parochial crowd anything can happen. Wembley sit atop the ladder and given the game advantage they have over everybody else, it's there's to lose. Wembley definitely have the depth to cover all over the ground and throughout the grades, so it's not surprising to seem them flourishing. Come Saturday though Wanneroo will be out to stop Wembley. The battle of the big white V will end with Wanneroo as winners in a tough tight game.

Good luck to all this weekend MrM is particularly looking forward to watching Seal running around. Given his divorce with Heidi Klum a while ago it's good to see him currently regaining his confidence.
