Another round done has drawn to a close and we congratulate all the teams who came out as victors. We've finished up round 6 and we are 2 games away from our "mid"-season bye. It seems crazy to think how quickly this season has gone so far with us just going 1/3rd's through the regular season fixtures already. But with 12 games left there is still so much to happen before we even think about finals match-ups.

Let's get down to a brief look through the games around the grounds for round 6.

Gosnells Football Oval
Gosnells 18.15 (123)
def.
Coolbinia West Perth 2.9 (21)

Huge margin win. Gosnells coming off of what can be described as the upset of the season (to date) toppling the top side in Ballajura holding them off in the dying moments. 3 times as many scoring shots the day was dominated by the blue and gold to help CWP remain winless for the season (you will get a great opportunity next round fella's)

Brown Park
Swan View 2.2 (14)
def. by
Ballajura 23.22 (160)

Swan View again forfeiting their reserves side, which I believe will be taking them out of contention for the 2017 season, which for so early in the season is very sad to see for them. They did seem to have a bit more competitiveness in the scoreline compared to last week, but this may be due to some more inclusions from last weeks GTM festival plus the home ground they should at least be familiarised to. Ballajura flexing their muscles a bit showing they can score heavily, which will come in handy against Thornlie next week who have the best defence in C2.

Thornlie Oval
Thornlie 6.2 12.5 19.7 21.12 (138)
def.
Canning Vale 2.1 5.3 6.4 6.4 (40)

Thornlie in a dominant performance over CV not even giving them a sniff. Missed opportunities in the last term could have made this a 100+ point victory with Thornlie after kicking 6+ goals for the first 3 quarters only managing 2 goals 5 points to a scoreless CV in the final. Canning Vale with some work to do and possibly some disciplinary action will be required for one of their big players.

Warnbro Sporting Complex
Warnbro Swans 2.4 4.5 8.7 13.8 (86)
def.
Lynwood Ferndale 2.1 5.2 7.4 9.7 (61)

Lynwood Ferndale taking it right up to the Swannies with their noses in front at the big break. An accurate Warnbro taking the most of their chances in the final term sealed them the win to remain in contention as favourites for the finals race.

Scott Reserve
High Wycombe 13.6 (84)
def. by
Canning South Perth 13.13 (91)

This to me was the upset of the round. The Tigers having most of the scoring shots coming away with the extra 7 points helping them have a win over the Doggies at their den. The competition yet again tightens between 3rd and 8th placed.

With Swan View dropping out next year, does that mean only 1 team gets relegated instead of 2?

Bottom 2 sides relegated, if the League side of Swan View fold for the following season I believe they would just promote the 3rd placed side from the grade lower to fill the void.

As it's only the reserves side at this stage forfeiting I don't think it will come to that

It means that only one team will be relegated from c3 to keep that comp at 10 teams

Thanks for the write up black yole. Hard for some substance on 3 of the games being so one sided. The Lynwood and Warnbro game looked a good contest. Lynwoood with some luck good be hunting for 5th position later in the season.

Thornlie and Balla continue their dominant form and will be the main contenders. Thornlie were unlucky with injuries late last season and they deserve more this time round. Gosnells are the smokey for the flag. Consistent and beating most comers.

Fantastic to see my tigers win at HW I remember some tough battles over the last few years there. A wins a win and with my knowledge of their injuries I would say the Tigers would take that at this stage. I still think they will be in the finals. High Wycombe will be a contender for that 5th spot.

I feel for swan view and their situation. They worked so hard to get back up to C2 after the drop from B to E years ago. Most people in the know believe our friend Mad Dog on here contributed by taking a number of players to wongon hills on huge overs $$ wise. This has ruined swan Ath and swan districts too. All for some shitty irrelevant country Comp.

Well done to all teams on there wins,
As for our hw team we fell short by 7 points in what I can say we played like absolute shit in the second half and are not happy. Well done on the Tigers for giving our boys a lesson that 2 quarters don't win a game of footy. but just remember EVERY team gets injuries tigerpoint but you throw you're best team on the park for that week.

Not sure what's happened at gosnells but even dropping down a grade its still a big efffort to turn a winless 100 point losing season into a 100 point win to win games everything i read in pre season on here no one rated them so definitely a big turn around
Thornlie and ballajura seem to have the class and most importantly the depth but doesnt matter how many games u win in season u still got to win the games that matter finals hey thornlie
As for the middle teams lynwood high wycombe warnbro canningvale and canning i think if there best team runs out on the day they will challenge but dont think they have the depth on other days which costs them
Very interested to see the ladder after rd 9 and all teams have played each other

Not EVERY team has an umpire try to get them over the line like you boys though.

I take your point on injuries dogs03 just seems cannnig have had a bad run over the last two seasons.

I don't agree with the umpiring comment, while in the past many complain of HW Umpire from
What I saw on the weekend there was a good performance by both officials. Keep it up
