Well the comp has tightened up after a gap threatened. Only a game and a half between fifth and tenth.

Piara Waters held on against a fast finishing Valley to get a good win. A strong breeze straight down the ground (I assume all games were wind affected!!) meant it wasn't always a great spectacle but both sides played some very good footy. Piara started well with the wind and again in the third quarter, Valley needed to outscore them by about 6 goals in the last and almost got there. Piara certainly look as though they'll be about the place come finals time.

Nollamara got the job done in a potential danger game and remain unbeaten. Armadale got over SNESA in what was perhaps a bit of an upset. Brentwood Booragoon put Dianella Morley bottom with a good win and another surprise was Mosman Park drawing with Ellenbrook.

The season is shaping up as a very interesting one!

1 Nollamara (C3) 5 5 0 0 0 0 481 348 138.22 20
2 Swan Valley (C3) 5 4 1 0 0 0 548 308 177.92 16
3 Ellenbrook (C3) 5 3 1 1 0 0 413 346 119.36 14
4 Armadale (C3) 5 2 2 1 0 0 444 447 99.33 10
5 Mosman Park (C3) 5 2 2 1 0 0 370 454 81.50 10
6 Piara Waters (C3) 5 2 3 0 0 0 389 388 100.26 8
7 Manning Rippers (C3) 5 2 3 0 0 0 435 488 89.14 8
8 Brentwood Booragoon (C3) 5 1 3 1 0 0 362 454 79.74 6
9 Snesa (C3) 5 1 4 0 0 0 362 448 80.80 4
10 Dianella Morley (C3) 5 1 4 0 0 0 338 461 73.32 4

I heard Nollamara got a scare. They were behind by about a goal going into the last quarter but ended up running away with it with the wind.

I managed to watch 3 quarters of the Brentwood vs Dianella game and although it looked scrappy and conditions were shit the players were going in hard. I dont think wither team will make finals but they will give some good teams a real shake.

Frantic finish out at Mosman Park, another wind affected game, Ellenbrook had roughly a 5 goal lead at 3 qtr time and kicked the first of the last, Mosman left their run with the breeze really
Late and goaled with about 45 seconds to go, but there was a lot of confusion as the scoreboard read mossie up by a point , I think most people left the ground not knowing the result but the point in question was actually on the full, the scoreboard attendant added a point on.

Not sure if any other games were "grooving the moo" affected but hopefully all the young blood have got the festival bug out of their system and they're ready to play footy now!

Spot on, Sand Surfer. We were up by about a goal at the final change, and then we were met with an avalanche of goals in about 10 minutes of footy. Nolla are a slick unit. Still proud of my boys though. We were slightly affected by Groove but not to that extent. Nolla won it fair and square.

I'm interested to know if Valley had a similar Groove issue. I tipped Piara on that basis. Ladder is looking good.

Looking forward to Rd 6.
