A Grade Grand Final
University vs. Wesley Curtin
Rnd 5: Wesley def Uni by 8 points
Rnd 11: Wesley def Uni by 19 points

Wesley Curtin is the only side that premiership favourites University have failed to defeat in 2015. In both their previous meetings Wesley were victors by 8 points and 19 points respectively and Uni now find themselves being matched up in a Grand Final against an opponent they have not played in the finals series.
Whilst Wesley held on to defeat TA’s last week I think they will need to be a lot more desperate to defeat Uni this week.
University and Wesley face up for the fourth time in five years and Luke Dwyer is hoping to add to his already impressive CV with a 3rd successive flag and 4th flag in five years.
It should be a hard well fought match with the University run and carry being the difference between the two sides.

University by 18 points

A Reserve Grand Final
Trinity Aquinas vs. CBC
2nd Semi Final: TA's def CBC by 63 points

Having lost the last two A Reserve Grand Finals the pressure is probably very much on Trinity Aquinas to overcome past failures and more importantly to continue their undefeated status this week against CBC. In the 2nd Semi Final TA’s were easy victors by over 10 goals. Grand Finals are always hard to win but form suggests that TA’s will achieve that rare honour of being undefeated Premiers this Saturday.
Trinity Aquinas by 24 points

Phil Scott Colts Grand Final
University vs. North Beach

University have been the stand out team all year and should achieve their second colts Premiership for the club this week against North Beach.

University by 36 points

Good write up once again, Big Al, but Uni are only chasing their second successive flag after Wesley Curtin beat them in 2013 - also not the fourth time in 5 years that these two will be facing each other. Three in a row, yes, but 2013 was WC's first A Grade GF since the 80s. Nevertheless, should be a fabulous game between two very good sides and hard to pick a winner. Very physical game in windy conditions down at TA last week, so be interesting to see how the WC boys butter up against a refreshed Uni outfit on a big ground. If they do and can close down Uni's run, they may well join Hamersley Carine in taking the flag from the elimination final. WC by 17 points for me.

I heard last night at training, Joel Beasley and Ben Taylor of University clashed heads and were both knocked out therefore both will not be able to play in tomorrows clash. This could make things very interesting. After hearing this Im betting an upset with Luke Dwyer and his side going down by 5 goals.

TK is correct. I think Al got confused with the 2011 Grand Final. That year Mt Lawley (not Wesley) finished on top and beat Uni in the second semi. Mt Lawley were hot favourites for the Premiership after that game. Uni then beat Nth Beach in the preliminary (putting an end to the NB seven straight Premiership reign and fronted up us underdogs in the GF. Uni easily disposed of Mt Lawley to take out the Flag.

In the League this Saturday I expect Uni to make it three straight with or without Joel Beasley and Ben Taylor.

Good luck to TA's in the Reserves Grand Final. I'd hate to see an undefeated side lose on the big day.

Also to Uni in the Colts who certainly have impressed me this Year.

Hope everybody plays the games in the right spirit!!!
