With rain predicted in the lead up and on the day lets hope we don't get too much as the Wanneroo Showgrounds is known to not handle inclement weather very well. Pretty poor really that these 2 teams have to travel out there to play!

LEAGUE
BALLAJURA vs SWAN VIEW - In my opinion we've ended up with the 2 best teams fighting it out for Premiership glory. Balla have been the best team throughout the year with strong depth as shown by having 3 sides in grand finals and The View have hung in there despite rarely having their best side available. For them to make the GF it has been quite remarkable considering a struggling Reserves team and lack of depth and player availability. Depth will again be put to the test following a fractured ankle and a suspension from last week adding to a couple already missing.

In the 2 contests so far this season we've seen Balla have comfortable wins on both occasions. The 1st by 52 points and the 2nd by 61. In that 1st game The View had plenty of chances early but kicked points before Balla took over and the next encounter saw Balla in control pretty much all day.

So The View have a fair bit to work on just to make a decent game of it on those results. Both of those games had Balla kicking over 100 points and if they do so again then the flag will be theirs. The predicted rain however should make this a closer contest and suit Swan View. The View don't mind a dog fight and that's what they will need to make it if they are to pull off the upset. Limiting Balla's run and spread from half back and through the guts from stoppages will be important. The View will also need to make the most of opportunities going foward. There ain't no pressure like scoreboard pressure! Also,if their best 6-7 players don't all have big games then it will be mighty tough.

For Balla they'll be fresh and confident that their best will get them a win. It will be interesting if their slick style of play will be affected by the weather. As I've mentioned they are the best team/club in C3 with 3 sides in the GF. However it's the 1st GF for the league team for many years if I'm not mistaken and there will be sure to be some nerves on the back of expectation from outside and within.

So,I'm hoping for a fierce contest,I'll be disappointed if it's anything less and I'll be cheering hard for The View. One thing I'm certain of is that it won't be an easy win for Swan View come 5pm Saturday. If the Viewers get up it will be by under 2 goals. If Balla get up it could be a comfortable win but the weather should play a part in that.

Hoping for a Viewers win but think Balla will get it done.
Balla by 3-6 goals.

RESERVES
SWAN VALLEY vs BALLAJURA - The Valley league team should get up here. Refreshed and ready to complete the pre season goals. Stave off relation and win a Ressies flag.
Valley by 6 goals

WCE COLTS
BALLAJURA vs BELMONT - Finally the Balla colts won't be gifted anymore flags after this one. They'll have some legitimate competition next year for the 1st time in several years which will be good for them.
Balla by 6 goals.

Reckon the game of the day in C3 land will be the colts game.

These two clubs are very evenly matched and really are testament to what a 'lower c grade' club can create in a colts program when you get passionate people involved who really care about their players and the game they want to be involved in.

A long way to go for an early start, but trust me, this will be as good a colts 'contest' as you will see at WAAFL level. Would like to see Belmont get up as a reward for some real good hard work over a few years, but think Ballajura just have enough class to get them home. Good luck both clubs.

In the later games I reckon wins to Ballajura and Swan Valley.

great writeup Maddog. Well done on both Swan View and Ballajura on making it to the Grand final, good luck to both of you on Saturday and next season as you step upto C2. I think Balla has the depth to do this well, there is some work to be done at Swan View, but they seem to thrive on the hard work.

On paper and past matchups Saturdays game should be one sided, Balla have played limited football in the past three weeks, and should be fresh and firing. They may be slightly stretched as they have reserves and colts playing also, but they should be fresh and ready to go.

On the other hand, Swan View have taken all before them in the past three weeks, and continue to improve with each outing. Swan View will go into this game with nothing to loose, they have a free hit as most would expect Balla to win on Saturday. Hopefully the injury and suspension they picked up last week wont weaken them greatly as they don't have the depth in colts or reserves, time will tell on that one

Interesting that the game is played at Wanneroo showgrounds, shit oval that one and not really close to either side, so travel for all will be required on Saturday. The showgrounds have been a mudpit for a few weeks, and after the dry weather of the last two days and then rain from now until Saturday, I expect the oval to be at its worst, all players may want a spare pair of boot, shorts and socks, hate to be washing the white shorts on Sunday morning.

So who wins.......Well im a believer in fairy tales, and I expect Swan View to get a fairytale finish to the year. Granted Balla have been the side to beat all year, but I feel SV has momentum right now from playing each week, if they can get off to a fast start they may be to far in front. Defence wins flags and this is why I believe SV will win........

In the other games I'm going for Swan Valley in the reserves, well done Valley boys 2015 will go down in history as the year the guys from the valley won the reserves flag and just avoided relegation in the league, great tactic that one is for your club going forward........

In the colts I think Balla will be to strong and to disciplined for Belmont. Agree MrTripleC this will be a good game, I have watched Belmont a few times and I don't think the conditions or the ground will suit their flair.

Good luck to everyone, win or loose your on the booze. To everyone playing this weekend, enjoy your silly Sunday, and your mad Monday, be safe. To the rest of us, enjoy the cricket season, and the spring carnival, see you all in 2016.

Fair to say the valley reserves success ultimately comes down to the runner, and without the great j.mast who would of known what was going on! I didn't get a medal but there wasn't a man on the ground who deserved one more. Glory to the valley!
