It's a good time of the year folks, September! Everybody loves September, the flowers are blooming, the sun is becoming more frequent and it's finals football time. This weekend in September sees us enter the penultimate game of the season and what an exciting 3 games in B Grade Football we have in store. The colts match promises to be an exciting affair (more on that later) and the Reserve and League games could go either way, with the underdogs in both games capable of causing an upset, will they? Well I doubt it, but a two horse race, anything can happen.
The Awards have been handed out in B Grade. Well done to Aaron Sweet from Stirling who took out the WAAFL B Grade Fairest and Best. Gavin Munt took home the B Grade Goal Kicking and MrM won the award for most glasses of Red Wine consumed in 6 hours on Monday night at Crown. MrM enjoyed catching up with many fans, especially the Collegians table, does anybody have the number for "Chippa?" I owe him an apology, as apparently he is threatening to leave football, after his 3 touch effort in Round 18, stick at it Chippa, MrM sees a bright future for you.
I hope Wembley have been to see big Tony this week and stocked up on hot chips ready for a big weekend at their ground, not just hot chips, but salads too, I hear some people like eating salads. The Innaloo store isn't too far away so no excuses, MrM may even grace the mighty Pat Goodridge with my presence, just too see if they have done the right thing.
Before we start the games, we will notice a change. Apparently Kingsway in the colts played an ineligible player and have had the result of the game on the weekend overturned gifting Whitford a victory. Playing an ineligible player at this stage of the season is inexcusable. If it was pure negligence or just blatant cheating it's still the same in my eyes and obviously the WAAFL eyes, so you receive no sympathy from MrM.

Wembley v Whitford
Previous meetings this season
Wembley 16.7 (103) defeated Whitford 7.5 (47)
Wembley 3.6 (24) defeated by Whitford 10.8 (68)
Wembley were blown off the park by a much better Collegians side last weekend and will need to improve if they want to win here. They have been one of the better colts sides all season so I'm sure they are good enough to come back here. Whitford earned a reprieve last weekend and should feel thankful, because really they weren't up too scratch last week. Can they turn that around and get a surprise win? MrM thinks they won't, but check Wembley's team sheet just in case of a loss.

Reserves
Whitford v Swan Athletic
Previous meetings this season
Whitford 2.8 (20) defeated by Swan Athletic 16.7 (103)
Whitford 10.6 (66) defeated Swan Athletic 6.8 (44)
Whitford suffered a heartbreaking one point extra time loss to Scarborough past weekend and will have to regroup here in the hope of rectifying the result in a weeks time. Swan Ath were very good last weekend in there win and will be out to keep up that same form. It should be a good quality Reserves game and it will be closer than either of those previous two results were. Swan Ath to cause an upset of sorts.

Wembley v Hamersley Carine MOTR
Previous meetings this season
Wembley 15.13 (103) defeated Hamersley Carine 12.7 (79)
Wembley 16.10 (106) defeated Hamersley Carine 8.7 (57)
A tough choice given the other finals could go either way and MrM thinks this could be a blowout, but MrM has been proven to be wrong so I have awarded this Match Of The Round. Looking at the previous results, Hamersley clearly have a job ahead of them stopping Wembley scoring.
Wembley will be disappointed after last weekends result given they had played very good football in the last 10 weeks. If the strong forward line of Wembley gets a chance early here they will be hard to stop. Hamersley have played very good football the past two weeks and should take great confidence into this final after already winning two. They too will look to get there bog forward line in the game early on. The midfield battle will be where this game is win and lost. Both sides have giant ruckman who can deliver the ball to the midfielders, but it's how they use it. It should be a good game, but I can see Wembley being too good here.

It should be a good weekend weather wise with the rain looking like it will hold off, hopefully for the game with light showers forecast. Good luck to all sides this weekend. MrM will probably go out and get Robert Allenby'd on Friday night, so look out Perth.
