So its do or die, a win here will see three teams earn there spot in the big dance ,and also one club securing a future in B grade, cracking day of footy ahead

League- melville vs Kingsley

A tough game to read. Kingsley along with Willetton have probably been the most frustrating teams in terms of form this season, one week looking very very average , the next looking like they could challenge anyone. A big test going to the rams home ground, where they have been dominant and will be pretty confident after only just going down to quinns up there. A tough pick, if kingsely turn up could be tight, but i think the rams get over the line and take the golden fleece to the B grade forums next year!

Reserves- Quinns vs Ocean Ridge

Well the quinns boys got a reality check last week, with a few reports saying they probably were lucky to only loose by a couple of goals agaisnt the blues. Ocean Ridge well theyll be aiming to do what most teams cant and make theGF from fouth. The small melville ground will play a factor in this game with the ridge probably having the biggest oval in the comp and quinns having a big ground to. However i think the ridge get the choccies here, and send the minor premiers out in straight sets.

Colts- Quinns vs Kingsely

Should be a belter, Kingsley showed first half of the season that they were a very good chance to take the flag although Quinns ended up topping the colts by season end. Last week well quinns got a big shock getting absoloutely thrashed by Willetton, whilst the cats got it done against the creek. Im tipping an upset with Kingsely getting over the line against a quinns team whos confidence got a big dent over the weekend.

As i said before should all be cracker games and really i think results could go either way, big day down at melville ill be down there, good luck to all teams and enjoy a few jars win or loose cause thats what its about!!

Boy oh boy wooowwwweeeeee! What an absolute ball tearer of a finals series it has been already! Plenty of upsets that's what finals footy is all about!!!Think you're just about spot on with all those tips here BigShow. Will be interesting day down in the pig pen at stock road. Think quinns boys got a bit of a reality check in both reserves and colts last week, leaving their faithful flabbergasted up there, then they were lucky to get over the line in league after a rampant Melville side should have taken home the W. I'm sure the Golden Fleece is smiling somewhere knowing his mob can compete with the Bulls.
Can't wait should be a cracker of a weekend down at the mud pile! Winners enjoy the frothiers, losers once the tears had dried up... enjoy Mad Monday!

Thanks for getting it started Big Show.

DB has been under the pump at work today! Doesn't the boss know that it is Prelim Final week!

Two cracking League games last weekend in tough conditions. We are now left with 3 teams in each grade and 1 spot in B Grade on the line this week when Kingsley head to Rams Stadium to take on the fancied Rams.

Congratulations to Quinns who were the better team on the day and have managed to advance to B Grade for 2016 just 2 years after winning the C2 comp. They are a great success story and it must give clubs at any grade hope of emulating this. Having said that, they would be very disappointed with the Ressies and Colts results and will be looking to make next Saturday a huge day for the club if those teams can advance this week.

Looks like there could be wet conditions again on Saturday with a 60% chance of rain but with less than 3mm forecast, I can’t see this affecting things too much. On to the match ups:

Preliminary Finals @ Melville Reserve
League - Melville (2nd) v Kingsley (5th)
Previous Encounters:
Rd 1 – Mel 17.12 (114) def Kin 9.5 (59) @ Melville Reserve
Rd 10 – Mel 10.10 (70) def Kin 11.6 (66) @ Kingsley Park

Kingsley have come down the hard road with two sudden death wins away from home already this finals series and are riding the wave of a 7 game winning streak. There is no doubt they will be full of confidence and will feel like they have a red hot crack against the Rams.

Melville on the other hand really have been fantastic all year and had won their previous 10 matchup’s before dropping a game last week that from all reports they feel like they should have won. Melville would have been confident prior to last week (maybe over confident) and for their sake, I hope the loss has provided them that spark they need to go on to the GF for a re-match of the top 2 teams in the GF.

The Rams took out both Home and Away match ups but that was so long ago that it is almost irrelevant at this point. I really like Kingsley’s fight and there is something special about fighting for the entire second half of the season to secure a finals berth narrowly then go on to beat the more fancied opponents away 2 weeks in a row, their belief will be very strong.

I think this one probably comes down to Home ground advantage and on that basis I am tipping Melville too strong at home and will get the win in a very hotly contested game.

Rams by 24 points

Reserves - Quinns District (1st) v Ocean Ridge (5th)
Previous Encounters:
Rd 7 – OCR 12.10 (82) def QD 4.11 (35) @ Ridgewood Park
Rd 16 – QD 9.5 (59) def OCR 7.1 (43) @ Heathridge Park[/i
]

The “NORTH WEST COASTAL DERBY” should be a cracker if both team busses make it to stock road after an overnight trip. Similar to the League game, Ocean Ridge are riding that momentum all the way from 5th with two powerful victories thus far. Quinns were the standout Reserves team all year and will be fuming at dropping their Semi Final at home and now creating extra pressure.

It is one game each during the home and away season but as we know finals are a different game. Ridge seem to have benefited greatly from having their league team miss finals and have a strong reserves side on the park throughout this finals campaign. I am backing the Eagles to get the job done and send Quinns home for a straight set exit and the chance to drink piss on the sidelines watching their League team next week.

Ridge by 12 points

Colts - Quinns District (1st) v Kingsley (2nd)
Previous Encounters:
Rd 3 – Kin 8.5 (53) def QD 7.9 (51) @ Ridegwood Park
Rd 12 – QD 11.13 (79) def Kin 7.9 (51) @ Kingsley Park

It is very rare that you see 1st v 2nd matched up in a Preliminary Final but that is what we have in this juicy colts encounter. They both matched up very well mid-season and were only 1 game apart on the home and away ladder. In some ways, this may be the best game of the day at Rams Stadium.

Again Quinns Colts will be disappointed in being ambushed by the Blues last week and will now have to make the substantial road trip south. I don’t really know where to go with a tip in this one, Kingsley played at this ground 2 weeks ago but did get beaten comprehensively. Will they take that as a lesson or do the smaller confines not suit them as well.

Purely based on coming off a win opposed to a loss, I am tipping Kinga to get over the line narrowly.

Kingsley by 6 points

Good luck to everyone on the weekend. DB may even venture down and get amongst the locals on the Rams Stadium balcony.

High stakes footy down at Stock Road tomorrow. Spring is upon us, and the temp is certainly rising as we head towards to second Saturday in September !

In the main event the Rams take on Kingsley in their home paddock. The Rams will be stinging after snatching defeat from the hands of victory at Quinns last week. Goal kicking practice would have been the order of the day at training this week, lessons would have been learnt, and we will see a more grounded and determined Rams unit come 2:30pm Saturday. Kingsley are riding a wave of form deep into the finals, meeting each challenger as they come. Tomorrow is a different league however, as the Rams are a class above opponents they have faced in the 7-0 winning streak. Success at Bull Creek, winners at the WAAFL Awards night and their colts into the GF will be all Kingsley will have to celebrate this year as the Rams will be too good at home.

Rams by 33.

In the 2's, Ocean Ridge by 1 point. The more sides involved on GF day the better.

In the pups, Kinglsey by 4 points.

Enjoy the beers all !

Looks to be a lovely spring day outside for what will be a fantastic game of football.

Kingsley in fantastic form at the moment so they will be full of confidence coming into this one. Its unheard of that a team could finish 5th and make it to be B grade...

The rams threw away a spot in the gf last week with extremely inaccurate kicking. The bus didn't break down either B7 but lightning doesn't strike in the same place twice. The rams will stampede on to the grand final with a 27 point win and great momentum going into the grand final. Quinns will be worried when they see the rams into the big one after our last couple of meetings...Should be a great day on the balcony at stock road tucking into a few frothies watching the boys play.

Enjoy the day lads

Well done to Melville who progress to the Grand Final and B Grade for 2016.

Grand Finals scheduled at East Fremantle Oval which is handy for the Rams geographically but it is a huge oval.

League
Quinns v Melville

Reserves
Willetton v Ocean Ridge

Colts
Willetton v Quinns

For anyone interested, Noranda and Kenwick will be joining C1 next year after qualifying for the C2 Grand Final.
