Dianella Morley AFC is recruiting colts players for the 2013 season as part of its exciting new alliance with Maali Football.

The club is seeking players aged 16 to 20 to play in the new side, called Dianella Morley Maali Colts.

The colts will be entered in the WA Amateur Football League alongside the club’s existing league, reserve and thirds sides.

All sides play on Saturdays and enjoy superb facilities in a bushland setting at Light Street in Dianella.

Maali Football aims to nurture young people to become the best they can be, on and off the field.

The organisation takes its name from the Noongar word for “swan” and welcomes players from all backgrounds.

Maali Football and Dianella Morley AFC have joined forces to provide young players with a pathway to senior football and to give them a chance to be mentored by positive role models.

How pathetic I played for Dianella seniors as a colt age and left after 1 year, I was told not to play for them as a club in a low grade with a bad history and culture

I left as they were a disgrace not sure how they think they will sustain a colts side by being this way
If you want to see the worst of Oz just head down to light street and see these scrubbers first hand ....bring back up lol

Dont know what you mean by this quote, i was down there yesterday and if the numbers are anything to go by they shouldn't have any worries fielding 3 senior teams plus colts.

A keybord warrior like yourself should have no problems outlining the history and culture problems at the club i look forward to your response, more than likely you couldn't get a game and you were pissed off.

Well my thoughts are my thoughts .... I seen things with my own eyes in 2011 and moved on
I played 16 games for Dianella in what was a difficult year for the club
The simple fact is that Dianella Morley have a history for being thugs, king hitters behind play and what pissed me off was when a mate of mine playing against us at the time got punched behind play leaving him a costly dentist bill afterwards and we at the time Dianella carried on like Heros after the game..... Why would juniors want to come to a club that carries on like that

Even that president chad or chado whatever his name is never addressed this and many other issues whilst I was there from what I could see

At the end of it all its been a bad image for Dianella for many years and don't deny it
I've moved on to a new club and I realise things change and the wheel turns and lets just hope it's better down there now..

If things have changed juniors will embrace a good club and be viable for many years and maybe me and my mates would be playing seniors down there including my younger brother and his mates in your hopefully colts team in 2013

Played 300 games for the club and no doubt there have been thugs that have played there, but over my time ivé seen many dispicable acts by rival clubs but i'm not about to announce them on a chat forum, if people think these thug acts only hsppen at Dianella they are delusional.

Dianella Morley AFC has worked very hard in recent seasons to address the poor reputation it previously had.

There was a one-off incident in 2011 when a player's poor conduct set back our efforts.

That player received a lengthy ban, and correctly so.

Creating a positive culture is a lengthy process but our president and committee are fully committed to this process, which we are part way through.

We are very proud of the current set-up and the direction the club is heading. Our colts side is an important part of building that positive future.

Our president is just one of the people who has worked hard to make Light Street a place other clubs look forward to visiting.

It does take time to change people's perceptions but we welcome anyone to come down to Light Street this season and have a look around - you may be pleasantly surprised by what you see.

Thank-you for reading.

I encourage you to come back mate..... i re joined last year after 4 years away... and the rubbish that happened yester-year has well and truly gone.... the colt side is full of gifted young players and coached by an individual who is all about football being an avenue to stay out of trouble.... also the senior teams have a great feel about them , if numbers from last weeks training are anything to go by we are going to strugle to get everyone a game.... :)
