Willetton vs. Roleystone
Disappointing for Roleystone as Willetton forfeited the game. This is the 2nd week in a row that Roleystone hasn’t played because of forfeits. This won’t help their finals preparation, with the finals only a couple of weeks away and the likelihood that as the top team they will not play in the 1st week of the finals.
Yanchep vs. Swan Districts
As expected a close result in a hard fought, low scoring game. Yanchep started strongly and grabbed the ascendancy in the 1st quarter. An even 2nd quarter saw Yanchep with a handy lead at the long break. Swans started to win more of the ball in the 3rd quarter to give themselves a chance in the final quarter. Swans in the final quarter controlled the midfield, continually getting the ball forward; however, Yanchep dug deep and managed to hold Swans at bay to run out narrow winners.
North Beach vs. Swan Athletic
Expected this one to be a little closer, but in the end a comfortable win to Norths.
Quinns District vs. East Fremantle
An easy win for Freo who dominated the play all day.
Coolbellup vs. Ocean Ridge
The Cooby boys proved far too good for Ocean Ridge, recording an easy win.
ROUND 17
Willetton vs. North Beach
Norths to win two in a row and comfortably beat Willetton.
Ocean Ridge vs. Yanchep
Yanchep to continue its winning form and will win easily against the Ridge.
Quinns District vs. Coolbellup
Coolbellup to beat Quinns easily and keep pressing for a spot in the four.
Swans Districts vs. Roleystone
This will be the game of the round. Roleystone who haven’t played for two weeks due to forfeits might struggle against a match hardened Swans who are playing at home. With injuries to key backs, Roleystone’s will need to work hard to prevent the strong Swans forwards from kicking a winning score. Roleystone can win if they control the play through the middle of the ground and provide enough goal kicking opportunities for their forwards. However, in what should be a hard fought game, Swans to come out on top.
East Fremantle vs. Swan Athletic
Swans will struggle to be competitive against a hard running and physically strong Freo outfit. Freo to win by a big margin.
