Round 14
There is really only one game this week that you could bet your house on. The rest are up for grabs and we should know a lot more about who is staying around to play with the big boys and who will be doing time in B Grade. The fight for fifth spot continues between West Coast & Kelmscott and in the fight to avoid relegation, will either North Beach or Nth Fremantle deliver the knockout punch. It will be interesting.

(1)Trinity Aquinas 2nd (10 & 3) vs. Kalamunda 9th (4 & 9)
Last Time: TA’s def Kalamunda by 37 points

TA’s did not have it all their way against Kelmscott last week and they will have to dig a lot deeper to dispose of Kalamunda who in recent weeks have fought desperately to avoid relegation. As Kalamunda will play each of the top four sides over the remaining 5 rounds they must win this game to have a serious chance of jumping above Nth Beach or Nth Freo. It should be a beauty but in the end I expect TA’s to show why they are in second place on the ladder.

TA’s by 24 points

(2)West Coast Cowan 5th (7 & 6) vs. CBC 4th (9 & 4)
Last Time: CBC def WCC by 2 points

West Coast beat Nth Beach by 77 points two weeks ago and CBC got beaten by Nth Beach last week by just the one point. So if form is anything to go by I’d suggest, that given the Coasters have won their last two games by an average of 100 points, they must start as favourites. This is a game for the true believers. Bennett will be the difference. West Coast to win and secure 5th spot.
West Coast by 18 points

(3)North Fremantle 8th (4 & 9) vs. North Beach 7th (5 & eight)
Last Time: Nth Beach def Nth Freo by 1 point

Nth Freo are a game behind Beach and only play the top five sides after this week. These clubs are traditional finals rivals from years gone by and have a distinct dislike for each other. The Magpies would love nothing more than to wave goodbye to Beach as they make their way down to B Grade, especially if a win in this match has played the biggest part. Rumour has it, the Beach Boys absolutely belted out the song last week, assuming that win would be enough to ensure they stay alive and survive 2015. Maybe it was premature? Whatever happens the bar take at Gil Fraser will be at an all time high.
North Freo by 1 point

(4)Mt Lawley 10th (0 & 13) vs. University 1st (10 & 3)
Last time: University def Mt Lawley by 83 points

You have to feel for the Mt Lawley boys facing the top side after Uni lowered their colours last week and opened the door for top spot on the table. This will be the biggest win for the season by a country mile.

University by 130 points

(5)Wesley Curtin 3rd (9 & 4) Vs Kelmscott 6th (8 & 4)
Last time: Kelmscott def Wesley by 12 points

Wesley continued their fine form taking out Uni by 19 points last week. They understand the importance of a top 3 finish and despite having lost to Kelmscott in the first encounter this year, it is clear that the doggies have lost a lot of their momentum. If Kelmscott can apply a little physical pressure they will be a chance. Another loss will make almost extinguish their hopes of qualifying for their first A Grade finals campaign very difficult indeed.

Wesley by 36 points

I really don't get what all the hate for Kelmscott is? What different are they doing from any of the other A or B grade clubs? IMO they have done a fantastic job in A grade this year and hopefully that might improve there depth.

I dont think its a hate for the club itself or its people, just the way they went about things. Was easy to tell they were being carried by a few players being rested in the WAFL when they would swear its "local boys" and after June 30 trade deadline they went to shit (ive been following the team sheet every week). Seems the coach bailed when it got tough and everyone at the club that was on this forum went quiet, when they were so passionate and didn't mind bagging other clubs when they were winning.

I do feel for some of its league players that were hoping for big things this season and truly love the club. Especially the blokes playing ressies getting belted by 100+ points most weeks.

Pitty really, Kelmscott in an A league Grand Final with its team it had at the start of the year would be fucking amazing to see!

I don't know why Kelmscott are singled out as what you have described is most clubs in A and B grade with WAFL players pretending they are playing with mates as local boys.

First things first Baxter did not walk out because it was getting tough, put it this way a job came up that was to good to refuse, u cant coach a team working 3weeks on 3 weeks off, at the end of the day bills and family come first

As for so called baging other clubs, mate your dreaming we give what we get and talk our own club up thats about it

I'd like to see how any of the a grade clubs would travel with no coach mid season, could garantee it would be a very similar outcome for most clubs

Also doesn't help with the fact we done have great numbers through our reserves to be able to step up with the same intensity and skills

on another note last years premiership coach has come in to fill the void so hopefully we see more of an improvement over the rest of the year

last but not least as a club the main aim was not to get religated anything above that was a bonus !!!

I belive we can still make finals and I aint the only one
