Hey Whitey, heard that a few blokes are lining up for the valley from basso oval this weekend. much disgust to the grape growers across the park. Faulkner could be one of those!!

Some massive games coming up this weekend with 4 fixtures to have ramifications on the top 5 and the other to impact relegation although a deeper look into that seems it should be all over already for one club.

COCKBURN vs MANNING - A couple of cellar dwellers take each other on in a relegation battle so this should be a hard fought slog. It would look as though Manning are safe as they get to play Secrets in the last round however if Cockburn are to be any chance of staying up they'll need to win well here and most likely need to pinch another in the final 3 rounds. Their form wouldn't suggest that is possible but stranger things have happened.
Manning gave the ladder leaders an almighty scare last week and if they can bring that form into this game it will be enough for them to secure a place in C3 for next year.
Manning by a couple of goals.

PIARA WATERS vs SWAN VIEW - GOTR - Gave this one game of the round as a lot riding on this one for both teams! A loss to Piara will see them relinquish top spot and a loss to the View will likely put an end to top 3 aspirations and could also leave them open to slipping out of the 5 in the final 3-4 weeks but that is unlikely.
Piara had a big scare last week while the View rebounded in style after a slow start.
Last time these 2 met,the View should've won, they dominated the 3 qtrs but couldn't get the score on the board. Pretty sure it was Piara's lowest score for the year by quite a margin.
Again here,if The View can restrict Piara to under 8 goals they'll be a big chance but if they let in more than 12 I'm not sure they can get it done THIS WEEK.
A real 50/50 game and any sort result won't surprise me.
Piara by 5 points.

SNESA vs DIANELLA - This game was very close to GOTR and some may make it so based on its ramifications.
A win to Snesa will see them take 5th spot and possibly move them only 4points from the View. A loss will make it almighty hard to make the 5 needing to win the last 3 to do so. Dianella can keep hopes of a home final with a win but more importantly get a 2 game buffer on Snesa with 3 games left.
Last week the Raiders had a comfortable win while Snesa rested the legs on the back of a forfeit which probably cost them some 15%.
I think this game will be an absolute belter! Snesa at home are hard to beat and with the season on the line I think they can get it done and in doing so put a spanner in the works of the top 5.
Snesa by 2 goals

SECRET HATBOUR vs BALLAJURA - If this game goes ahead Balla will win by 243 points. Hopefully they get a heads up before the drive down.

SWAN VALLEY vs EELENBROOK - Back to back derbies for the Valley as they take on the Eels for the battle of the Burley. Barring something extroadonairy this battle will be in vogue again next year.
Last week the Valley tried in vane and were outclassed up at Brown Park while the Eels showed that the win 1st time around against Balla was somewhat of a fluke.
I think these teams match up quite evenly with some bigger bodies and not an abundance of pace. The Valley have played some good footy in front of their tin shed of late and no doubt they'll be up and about again. I reckon they can give the Eels a real shake.
Valley by 2 goals.

Great writeup Maddog, again. I was hoping to get on here earlier to give my thoughts but first couple of days back at work and the boss wants me to do something so that I get paid this week, Not sure what he wanted me to do so I just hid from him........ Onto this weeks games, and I agree there are a few that have huge implications on how the grade could finish

Cockburn v Manning - Battle of the relegation, however I agree with Maddog, with the fixtures it appears as though Manning have the easier run home. We played Cockburn a few weeks ago, in a rough and tumble affair, we played manning Saturday and they are well coached, well disciplined, and carry out their coaches instructions really well. Hopefully the manning coach wont abuse both umpires this week as much as he did last, however I think manning will win this game easily and allow themselves to start planning for C3 next year.

Piara v Swan View - I contemplated game of the round, but with both sides finals bound I believe other games have more riding on them this week. Last time bot sides played Piara kicked 5 12 for the day, and kicked 4 goals 7 in the first quarter. It wasn't the best effort, but it was enough to win by 6 points, not 6 goals as previously mentioned. Piara got a big scare last week from manning, are they resting players, have they had walkouts or is their lack of depth starting to bite them?????? Swan View have been in ripping form, only loosing to Ballajura in their last few games. It should be a ripper and close at the end. Ill always back my team regardless of retirements, walkouts and any other things that are happening, and I reckon we will win by 6 points again. MADDOG, come and say G'day after the game and ill shout you a red can

SNESA v Dianella Morley - GOTR based purely on how this game effects the rest of the five. If DM wins this game the five is effectively sealed, however if SNEZA gets up here they are alive and well, and could yet be Maddog's dark horse still. We played SNEZA a couple of weeks ago, and they got us in a close one. They had good setups on the day pressing up behind the ball, and they have some hard running midfielders. DM have been up and down the past few weeks, winning 2 and loosing 2. I think SNESA can win this game and keep alive their finals dream, the issue will be if they are flat or rested by missing a game. If their flat they may be to far behind to grab the win, if they are rested I expect them to pump DM.

Secret Harbour v Ballajura - Balla by the length of the freeway, hopefully harbour get 2 sides on the park

Swan Valley v Ellenbrook - Dingo with all the rain how is the oval looking mate? Hopefully its all chopped up and muddy, just the way Valley likes to play. Both sides have some big bodies, and both sides will be up for the challenge. If Ellenbrook wins this they will shore up a top three spot and a double chance, If they loose things could get tight........The Valley will be keen to win again at home, especially if the ground is heavy because they want their Burley back. Ill pick Swan Valley in front of a vocal home crowd.

Good luck to everyone, enjoy the game, play in the right spirits and remember,
