Interesting scenario in A Grade. Battle for the last two spots in the top 3 between TAs, CBC and Wesley. Kelmscott seem set for a quiet September and Kalamunda's resurgence has put North Beach in the relegation zone. My Rd 18 ladder predictions are:

University 64
TA 56
Wesley 52
CBC 48
West Coast 40
Kelmscott 32
North Fremantle 24
Kalamunda 24
North Beach 20
Mount Lawley 0

Key games that will define the teams destinies include:

Rd 13 Kala vs Nth Freo
Rd 14 West coast vs CBC and North Freo vs North Beach
Rd 16 TAs vs CBC
Rd 17 North Freo vs TAs and Kelm vs West Coast and CBC vs Wesley
Rd 18 Kalamunda vs North Beach!!

Anyone else keen to have a crack?

Cheers Big Al....thought it was time to make a contribution after reading your excellent cooentary all year. So we agree on top 5. Just a slight difference on top 3 and relegation zone. It will be interesting and of course major upsets will skew the overall predictions.

How will the next six games unfold?. This week could make all my predictions unravel but for what it is worth, there are only two certainties this year. Uni will not lose another game and finish in top spot and Mt Lawley will not win a game all season and finish bottom of the table.

1. University (6 & 0)
2. CBC (5 & 1)
3. TA's (4 & 2)
4. Wesley (4 & 2)
5. WCC (3 & 3)

6. Kelmscott (2 & 4)
7. North Ftle (2 & 4)
8. North Beach (2 & 4)
9. Kalamunda (2 & 4)
10 Mount Lawley(0 & 6)

Not wrong about your predictions potentially unravelling in just one week, Hawkeye. Despite Uni's hiccup, they have the softest run home, are unlikely to lose another game and top spot appears assured. CBC and North Freo the biggest losers of the weekend with CBC dropping out of the top 3 for the first time this year and North Freo now staring relegation well and truly in the face.

CBC still have games against TA and Wesley still to come and may now need to win both to climb back into the top three. Hard to see that happening with Wesley's emerging strength and TAs starting to get their best back onto the park. There are four very good sides in A Grade this year and hard to see whoever grabs the unlucky fourth spot beating the other three in a a finals campaign to win the flag.

North Freo now face a must win game against North Beach before playing four of the top 5 in the last month to round out the season. With Kala and Beach still having a games to come against Mount Lawley, a loss will most likely spell the end of the relegation battle.

Results on the weekend seemed to suddenly make things a lot clearer, but also showed how things can quickly turn on their head. That being said, prepared to declare the finishing order after round 18 with a degree of confidence. The only doubt in my mind is whether WCC or Kelmscott claim that last finals spot.

1. Uni
2. TA
3. Wesley
4. CBC
5. WCC
6. Kelmscott
7. North Beach
8. Kalamunda
9. North Fremantle
10. Mt Lawley
