Round 12
North Beach & Kalamunda are showing some signs of a mid season resurgence and will put the pressure on North Fremantle in the relegation stakes. At the top end both TA’s and Kelmscott are looking a little shaky. As I said last week, with the rain and holidays there could be a few more upsets to come.
(1) CBC 3rd (8 & 3) vs. Kalamunda 9th (3 & eight)
Last Time: CBC def Kalamunda by 34 points
CBC went down by 25 points against Uni last week whilst Kalamunda have won their last two games against Kelmscott & West Coast, so expect them to be in with a chance. This is a massive opportunity for the hillside brigade to move a step closer to surviving in 2015. Don’t think CBC will slip up at home though!
CBC by 30 points
(2) Trinity Aquinas 2nd (9 & 2) vs. University 1st (9 & 2)
Last Time: Uni def TA’s by 30 points
Uni are looking for their 7th straight victim. Normally a top two match would be a toss of the coin but TA’s are clearly struggling based on their last four matches. After getting soundly beaten last week by Wesley it is hard to see them having the match ups against University. The reign of terror should continue.
University by 36 points
(3) North Beach 7th (4 & 7) vs. West Coast Cowan 6th (5 & 6)
Last Time: West Coast def North Beach by 76 points
This looms as an elimination final for the Coasters. If they can reproduce the form they displayed last time they met North Beach they will win easily. However Beach surprised everybody last week by beating Kelmscott easily. West Coast has lost five of their last 6 games and another loss will end their finals hopes. It could go either way but I will back the City Beach boys.
West Coast by 6 points
(4) North Fremantle 8th (3 & eight) Vs Kelmscott 5th (7 & 4)
Last time: Kelmscott def North Ftle by 26 points
Whilst Kelmscott’s place in the top five is relatively safe, two successive losses against the bottom four sides have put a question mark on the club. Nth Freo despite a reasonable performance in most games just cannot seem to get the wins on the board. As a consequence they are now right back in the relegation zone. Down at Gil Fraser the Magpies always perform better and it should be a very tight and hard fought contest. However I expect Kelmscott to rebound and put their finals campaign beyond doubt.
Kelmscott by 6 points
(5) Wesley 4th (7 & 4) Vs Mt Lawley 10th (0 & 11)
Last time: Wesley def Mt Lawley by 12 points
Wesley looked very much a Premiership contender last week by easily disposing of TA’s. Mt Lawley put up a reasonable performance as well going down eventually by 34 points against Nth Ftle. Unfortunately it will be a lot worse for them this week as Wesley will be chasing a big win to claw back the percentage differential they have related to the sides above them. Hopefully the Hawks can be competitive.
Wesley by 60 points
