There are still 8 teams that can make the finals in C2 this year which is making the comp interesting. Anyone got any thoughts of who will finish in the top 5

Thornlie

It's a tough one to leave Cooly out

Looking forward to Thornlie at home this week should be a cracker

Been a bit quiet on the C2 front myself included, I’ll do a mid-year review based on what I’ve seen.

Thornlie – a very well drilled team who run from all over the park, the only blemish they have so far being a Draw with Canning. Have to have these guys as the favourites based on their first half though with how close this competition is there are a number of teams that are a real chance.

Kenwick – After coming into this grade this year following last year’s C3 flag we are very happy to be sitting second. Our plan was to be competitive and we feel we have done that. Our loss against Thornlie was a blowout but we feel we can improve on that. The losses to Noranda and Warnbro both came down to us not playing the final minutes well, our core group has played a lot of football together and will look to keep building.

Noranda – Noranda are a very skilful side with players all over the park that can turn a game given half a chance. Both our games against them have been great round 1 had them having plenty of shots but not converting. Whereas round 10 was the opposite Noranda taking their chances (even a very impressive 50m torp in the wet) and Kenwick giving the ball back with basic mistakes.

High Wycombe – high Wycombe are an interesting club, they have been competitive in all their games and have beaten the bottom 5 teams. Our game against them was one of the more physical games I’ve been a part of, with both teams throwing themselves at the ball with seemingly no thought for self-preservation.

CWP – I can’t comment too much on Coolbinia as I think we caught them on a bad day. They beat High Wycombe and only went down by 8 points to the ladder leaders. So cannot be written off

CSP – Canning are the only team to take any points off the league leaders and are generally a dangerous team, their loss to high Wycombe on Saturday hurts but they have a healthy percentage. I expect canning to make a charge in the back half

Warnbro – Warnbro are still a chance to make finals and have the players to do it but a lot has to work for them to make that step. They are a fast finishing side as we found when they kicked the last 3 goals to snatch a victory. This is another side right in the mix

Canningvale – Canningvale have a very young side, and if what LAG said plays out they will be even younger for the rest of the season. Being such a young side if they get a run on they will be hard to stop. Whichever way the season plays out for CV playing their youth only bodes well for future seasons.

Mosman park – this was a surprise for me seeing Mosman park struggle as they have this season, they aren’t totally set on being relegated but clawing back 3 games is a tough ask which unfortunately I don’t think they will accomplish. Hopefully they can pull together and get something out of this seasons back end.

Brentwood Booragoon – it has been a rough transition for Brentwood who came up with us this season. They have lost a number of players from last year and haven’t managed a win. They won’t give up however and I don’t see them finishing without a win. As with Mossie Park hopefully they pull together and get something out of the back half.

My guess for the finishing final 5
Thornlie
Noranda
Kenwick
High Wycombe
Canning South Perth

CWP are a roughie for me, but as I said we didn't see their best footy so hard to pick.
