Swan Athletic 11.26.92
Kingsway 5.6.36

Scarborough 20.12.132
Stirling 8.1.49

Wembley 15.13.103
Wanneroo 8.5.53

Hamersley Carine 11.14.80
Maddington 3.9.27

I heard Whitford beat Collegians but don't know the score. I also heard Collegians had a representative sit next to the Whitford timekeeper to make sure that they didn't pull a 'Collegians' and blow the siren early.

Wembley also touched up Wanneroo, which was a surprise. Maybe they ran out of hots chips at half time at the Showgrounds..

Thanks for posting the Results. The canteen at The Showgrounds may have run out of hot chips, but Wanneroo played at Pat Goodridge on the weekend, and they didn't have hot chips, so MrM is in no mood to be mucking around.

Arriving at Pat Goodridge on Saturday one thing was clear, the only thing that was more full than the car park is MrM's Social Calendar. With a busy few weeks ahead look out for MrM hopefully appearing in the STM Social Scene section some time soon.

The colts put up a much improved effort against the undefeated Wembley. Some poor ball use and lapses in concentration overall let them down, however given they only had 20 players to start and 18 by 3 quarter time it was good to see them fight it out. MrM is pleased to see the colts have heeded my advice and done away with the one handed tackles and they looked much better. Disappointingly it wasn't enough though as The Wombles won by 5 goals.

The Reserves.... Well they were about as good as the hot water system at Pat Goodridge (we shall get to that later). With injuries and Uni holidays starting numbers were scarce especially given it was a wet day, so a few changes to the Reserves side meant it could be tough. It ended up being a tough day for Wanneroo as they didn't get going at all, and didn't slot one home till the last quarter. Wembley won by many a goal as Wanneroo's day was only gong to get worse especially for MrM.

MrM travelled to the canteen not expecting a lot, given last time he was at Pat Goodridge Reserve for cricket the opposition had the audacity to put up burnt Sausage Rolls for afternoon tea, so it's safe to say my expectations were low.
I looked for hot chips, but found NONE
I had a hamburger it was OK, could have used something more, but MrM couldn't quite put his finger on it.
The ladies serving me were OUTSTANDING. Well played Wembley trying to get bonus points for that, but you lose points for basically everything else. Not even a tall legged blonde woman could save you, but I'll settle on a 5/10.

As for the showers, I'm all for communal showers, but sharing with the opposition also, it's bad enough losing on the field, but losing the sword fight in the shower was as equally disheartening. I look forward to the new facilities Wembley.

The League game was a tough, hard, game right from the start. Wembley took it right up to Wanneroo with some intense pressure applied all game. Pressure on the ball carrier was the early theme as Wembley got off to a good start with Wanneroo keeping themselves in the game with some good flow and goal kicking. Wembley again controlled play in the second quarter as Wanneroo just couldn't maintain the high standards they have kept up in past weeks. Wembley were looking good even with the wind they had no troubles moving the ball and had a good lead heading into half time.

Wanneroo were given a big wake up call at half time as they looked to to work their way back into the game in second half. Unfortunately for Wanneroo, Wembley had different ideas and much like the first two quarters really stamped their authority on the contest. As the rain came along Wembley seemed to get better or Wanneroo were getting worse, MrM couldn't quite figure that one out. But as three quarter time approached Wanneroo were virtually out of the contest as kicking 6 goals in the last was always going to be a substantial effort. I'll say it again, but Wembley again controlled the game and looked very good as they did as they pleased as Wanneroo were probably lucky not to lose by more.
A loss means Wanneroo drop down to Fourth spot with still plenty of work to do to try and rectify that loss, it makes the next 4 weeks all the more important for Wanneroo.

As much as I like Wembley's song, hearing it 3 times on Saturday proved to much for MrM and I sulked off into the distance. Looks like every other game went as planned. Some big results, and percentage boosters for all.

Well written as usual MM. Wembley certainly got off to a flyer and from the start looked like winners. Like you I was looking forward to hot chips at Wembley and was a bit disappointed non were available. Can`t say much for the eye candy as my wife was with me when we got lunch. Looking forward to seeing you again during the year.

Caught the Swan Ath v Kingsway game on the weekend after being away for a few weeks and it was a game that was played in tricky conditions with quite a strong breeze blowing to 1 end.

There was only 4 points seperating the teams at 1/2 time although it was always going to be a struggle for Kingsway with 3 players unable to return after the break which limited the rotations although Swan Ath lost Embley to what appeared to be a hamstring just before 1/2 time as well.

In time the bigger bodied and more mature Swan Ath ran away with the game although the margin could have been a lot more had they kicked straight.

Kingsway seemed to be missing quite a few of there regular league players whilst Swan Ath looked pretty strong across the ground and in my opinion would be the team to beat this season based non that form.
