The half way Mark approaches and the comp is very even at the moment. Nollamara are the big surprise and are probably the favourites at the moment by a whisker. They are improving each week and with WAFL legend and 2 time Sandiver medalist Ali Pickett at the helm they are becoming a formidable unit playing a brilliant brand of fast play on football using attacking handball , run and carry to tear teams apart. They probably created Amateur football history last week by defeating Safety Bay by 30 goals which would have to be the first time that the wooden spooners from the previous season (in E1) defeTed the premiers from their grade by 30 goals . Last season Safety Bay were beating them by 20 goals so it is an incredible 50 goal turn around. On Safety Bay they have lost 95 per cent of their premiership side from last year and are a rabble at the moment.
Armadales powerfull run and stun brand of football has them second favs at the moment though the margin is very narrow. The Demons attack from all over the ground with play on handball run and carry getting the ball across the lines quickly and with a good focal point up forward will be hard to beat.Kwinana and Osbourne Park are also in the mix with Cottesloe . Ossie Park had the bye early in the season and lost a bit of momentum but are now starting to get their mojo back. Kwinanas pace with run , spread and carry will see them there at the end of the year. Cott play a very organised brand of footy attacking with handball and play on football but lack a little bit if pace . They will beat up on the lower ranked teams but struggle against the top teams because of their lack of pace.
Belmont are dropping of the pace a bit and missing some key players. They still play an attacking brand of footy but turnovers and poor disposal are counting against them. They will still be dangerous but will need to improve. Rossmoyne have added some some good run and carry with handball and quick play on to their game and are improving each week and could still be a finals threat.
Cockburn Cobras are still getting their game plan together with a lot of new players at the club and are a dangerous unit when they fire and if they can continue the improvement may be the surprise packets come finals time. The same can be said about Jandakot as they have improved a lot from last season but maybe lack a little bit of class but they will worry all teams in the run home especially if some of their key players can find some form. They are playing the right brand of football and heading in the right direction but it may take time. Bayswater play a basic, slow moving, predictable grab it and kick it style of footy that won't win them many games in this grade and I can't see any wins ahead for them.
We'll I hope that gets the C4 talk going again as it has been very quiet the last couple of weeks.
