Am hardly jumping on here trying to poach players. Poaching would involve approaching individual players with offers more generous than they already have. Also to suggest I or we are trying to pick the eyes out of struggling clubs is blatantly wrong! There are always players about that are not happy at their club, maybe can't cut it or commit to WAFL footy or simply need the cash.Im not from an amateur team offering cash so you boys need to get off your soap box![/quote]

Dress it up any way you like Dangerman, your trying to pick the eyes out of clubs that may be struggling by getting on here and offering money to come and play at your club. Your offering money to players that most likely don't get it, that's poaching champ, in fact the Quote in the Oxford dictionary lists poaching as follows

to persuade someone who works for someone else to come and work for you: There is no doubt your trying to do that

Id be stoked if I was the young ruckman at your club that will get pushed aside and have to play reserves or not get the opportunity to develop if a couple of players accept your offer.

I know of a couple clubs in the EDFL that had to play 5-7 players to get full sides together. 1 side lost their first 3 games by 100+ points so the paid players left and now they have no reserves and will probably forfeit the season out. similar thing happened with your club Danger? Also how far out of Perth is yoru furthest and closest games?

Seems our soap box is getting crowded Dangers. PH and SS are spot on. You're poaching.....but apparently the survival of country clubs far out weighs any other club. Personally playing for the jumper and with your mates is far more important. Good luck in your search.

One club in our comp pays up to 15 players, just not enough lads around in the town for 2 teams. At our club we don't usually have a shortage of players but with 8-10 guys out through injury and then fifo etc things are getting pretty tight and when your commimg up against certain teams you can't just throw some young kid in there who will get smashed. It must be a bit hard for PH and Postman to think with any rationale on this matter.

Maybe you should try to understand the definition a bit better then!We haven't offered anything to anyone, nor have we tried to persuade any one. It's simply an advert for anyone who may be interested, much like you'd find in the newspaper, where if someone would like a change of scenery from their workplace for whatever reason.Little point going back and forth with you and Postman,as I said before you both aren't educated enough in the topic to understand what your actually talking about.Out of interest PH were you poached by your new club this year, left your old club because they were no good or simply given the ass?

Danger. I totally agree with you about player numbers in some country areas so good luck in your efforts finding players, especially this late in the season. It sounds as though there are some insecure people on here worried about losing players for whatever reason. If players are that happy where they are there would be no reason to leave halfway through a season but as you mentioned Danger, like a job, people are always looking to move on for one reason or another. I don't understand how this could piss people off. If my memory serves me correctly it wasn't that long ago that Premiership Hangovers club was being accused of paying players on another thread.
Pot and kettle comes to mind?

Hey Robber. Whats your problem mate. Danger is just trying to protect the future of his club like every other person on this site would. If you feel that threatens the future of yours then you are doing something wrong down there. Happy players are not going to leave half way through a season, however a player who's just lost his job with a family and mortgage or not getting a league game or whatever the reason has every right to. I think you are missing the point of community football.
