TOPIC:

A third of the way through the year and while I still rate Ballajura as the team to beat there isn't much separating the challengers. One or two changes each week could have a big impact on certain teams performances. I saw Piara Waters last week and I think Balla would have them covered quite easily,not sure if they were missing any but they aren't a dominant 5/1 team that the ladder may suggest. Piara,Snesa and The View will see where they are at over the next 2-3 weeks.

Cockburn vs Swan View - Both teams risk losing touch with the 5 with a loss here. A huge couple of weeks coming up for The View as they play teams surrounding them on the ladder and consecutive wins will see them in the 5. However if they can't beat Cockburn then I'd suggest they won't be playing finals footy. Last week they had their chances but blew it! Cockburn showed everyone that again they are stuck in no mans land with a loss to Manning. Keep that form up and they could find themselves in a relegation battle with The Valley.
The View should get some quality ins this week,hopefully the coach can also pull a few strings and get a couple of Swans boys with the state bye. With or without them they should be winning! The View by 4 goals.

Piara Waters vs Eelenbrook - GOTR! The only game this weekend which will see 2 top 5 teams square off. Piara were ordinary in winning last week in trying conditions.Only 1 goal in the final 3 qtrs from memory. They will get a good line in the next 2 weeks against fellow top 5 teams.
Eelenbrook won the burley! WOW,bit like the Dorkers winning the Derby,they celebrate it hard cos it's the only thing they have in the trophy cabinet. Won't be surprised to see either team get up but I'll say Eelenbrook by 2 goals.

Snesa vs Manning - Manning have found some form in recent weeks with a couple of wins either side of a competitive loss. They'll get a reality check here however as Snesa seem to have found their mojo. They'll know how important it is to get a win here before they play Swan View next week. Snesa by 7 goals and my dark horse.

Secret Harbour vs Dianella - It was a sorry old day for Secrets last weeks as the Ressies forfeited and the league team lost by 35 goals. Hopefully they can get 2 teams on the park for the rest of the season and its up to the leaders of the club,committee and playing,to put some things in place to make the remainder of the season somewhat enjoyable. It won't get any easier here as a rampaging Dianella come to town. The Raiders are in great form and will win here by 20+ goals.

Swan Valley vs Ballajura - The Valley have been more competitive in recent weeks and that coincides with a few Ressies boys getting out of the comfort zone and stepping into the League team. Bit hard to fit 30 into 22 in the pursuit of a reserves flag. Youd hope youd instead have 30 blokes trying to play league!
Balla rebounded in style in what was more like a training drill. It will be tougher here but nothing that should worry them. Balla by 8 goals hard held!

No ties whatsoever! I despise The Valley!!!
I do know a couple of blokes that play out there and a few who have some ties with the club. I'm not suggesting they are stacking the reserves,rather that there are capable players in that team who would rather play reserves than push up to the League team. It might only be 2 or 3 but in this grade it can make a huge difference,maybe they can't make the commitment to training and playing.
Does seem odd that their ressies have played finals the last 3 years from memory while the League side has really struggled.
