TOPIC:

1.3 Any club which offers to make payment or makes payment, either directly or indirectly including via a third party, by remuneration, earnings or reward whatsoever (whether by way of match payments, sponsorship, reimbursement of expenses, including travel expenses or otherwise) to any of its players (except as set out in By-law 1.4) shall be:
a)
b) 1.3.1
ineligible for finals in the current football season and be relegated to the next lowest grade for the following football season; and
fined a sum not exceeding fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000).
The player or players who has or have received such remuneration shall:
a) be fined a sum not exceeding $2000; and
b) have their registration to play cancelled pursuant to By-law 7 for a
minimum period of five years or until such time as a new application for registration has been lodged with and approved by the Board.

I am no Tom Percy and have a non tee public education But doesn't it say you only have to sign a stat Dec if you called upon at the tribunal, I still can't see how an amateur football comp can tell every player to sign a stat dec or you can't play, surely they don't have the rights. Fair enough when we register we have to tick the boxes on not getting paid and stuff but yeah can you just throw stat decs at anyone. It sounds to me like the blokes running the show are the same blokes that were involved with asada and the Lloyd Rayney case and scare tactics are there only evidence.

Wanneroo have placed a team in the sunday comp...they play their home games on saturday at the showgrounds under the lights...away games are on sunday at the other mobs dung heap.
Just hope MM's canteen chips in round 9 are up to the standard we serve here at QP

We exist for that very reason..the local amateur mob had too many but didnt wanna give the fellas a go...so we formed a new club,and hay are going great

This is bizarre, the bottom grade in amateurs E3 is a 9 team comp with a bye each week. Why wouldn't the WAAFL be encougaging an existing amateur club to put their team into this grade rather than having to go to another comp to give players a game.

These players are basically players 90-110 at the club and its a big stretch to think any of them would be getting $$$ to play. With all this chatter going on about players getting paid in amateurs you would think the WAAFL would bend over backwards to get players playing in amateurs who play for the love of the game.

Sorry all had a busy weekend, Yes our 5th sides plays in the Metro Football League that's due to a WAAFL ruling, they denied another side a place in E3 so they would seem hypocritical if they allowed Wanneroo in which is fair enough, I think the WAAFL has a hard job managing the grades and different sides so credit to them for trying to manage all that.

So the MFL was nice enough to let Wanneroo play, they had a good game last night against Midland.
You will probably see more players transferred across to play in the Metro Football League.
No need for alarms bells.
I hope our canteen is open when others attend! If not more than welcome to come back and find out for yourselves.
