Canning Vale (LKC) 12.13 - 85

The day started well for the cougars their colts while lacking in numbers certainly made up for that with fitness and willingness to work for each other, consistently they had the extra player around packs allowing the easy feed out and picked our young fellas apart with their switches and run from behind. it wasn't all doom and gloom for our boys though our endeavour was definitely up there but couldn't keep the ball once they had won it.

I didn't see a whole lot of the reserves as I was distracted getting food but it looked very similar to the colts game. our boys lacking a bit of polish and turning the ball over and canning Vale taking advantage.

the league game was much closer than the score suggests Canning Vale had their fair share of the ball through the middle but it all broke down when they went forward, the game style they where running was very free flowing and you could see how on their day they could score very quickly but they have a lot of younger guys who gave up a fair bit of size to some of our lads and after a while they appeared to be watching for the contact and allowing our players to attack the ball.

really would like to thank canning vale who came across in good numbers to have a beer and a chat after the game, it was great to see and greatly appreciated and we will absolutely return the favour on the return trip.

got to see three quarters of the Tigers win over the Swans. A good crowd there for the chaps from Warnbro 300th game. Looked at if first half was a hard fought game then 3rd quarter the canning boys came out firing and from memory were 4 or so goals up at the last break. Holding that lead in the last.

Good signs for Canning and it seems all the players are Canning boys and they havent recruited which sometimes is what happens with a new coach. Was away until round 2 so just going off what I have seen, interested to see if Big Orse knows any more about how they are looking.

Must say with colts playing after league it was a good atmosphere down there and a club worth getting to if you want to watch your mates and have a drink or two.

Canning really did step it up a notch after half time and came out firing.
I think Warnbro were kind of stunned and left flat footed.
the last qtr was round about even and Big WaHoo tried to get him self in the game by doing the old run behind hands off shot at goal trick, they had the ball inside there 50 for a while but just could not convert on the score board.
Game was played in good spirits and good to see Warnbro get a good crowd to support a fantastic day of footy and the ANZAC spirit.

Yeah it was a great game played in good spirit Tigerpoint. The Tigers seem to be getting better every week after a massive pre season, a good spread of talent over the whole field.

Kenwick vs Canning Vale

Clarko was spot on really.

Colts;
Our boys were undermanned with only 17 to choose from dut to Groove n the Moo or whatever it is called haha... but they guys there were talented! More run, carry and some fast movement really found the Royals lacking experience. We had 7-Colts double up into the League side, so for the young Royals to take on a 3rd of our League side fresh in the morning was a great effort.

Reserves;
Well I played 3-quarters of this game before doing my shoulder and the first half was an arm wrestle as we took a narrow lead into the main break. After that it was all Cougars as the bigger bodied Royals ran out of steam. Seems both sides had a few first gamers which is good to see. Game played in great spirits.

League;
Have a shower, come out and the score is 5-goals to nil. The Royals off to a flyer and seemed our young Cougars were shell shocked. Big effort from those doubling up and a great lesson for those guys too on how to attack the footy. We were massively outsized and Kenwick popped the ball in long and high to their forward who took most opportunities. Scoreline showed 8-goals to 1 at the main break. Second half saw an arm wrestle for much of the quarter before Kenwick kicked a few late ones to have a big lead going into the last term. Final term saw the Cougars win the quarter unbelievably! Some would say Kenwick took their foot off the pedal, others would say we looked the fitter team... In the end the better team won and I can tell you, Kenwick will be in the 5 this season.

Good to see old mate Harvs kick a goal from CHB as well. I am just enjoying not having to play on him! haha

This old man has hurt his shoulder and misses next week, but will be on holidays for a month anyway! Looking forward to it to say the least!!!
Will be checking in with scores but won't be posting reviews until the second half of the season.

Until then, good luck to all.

LAG
Loves kicking goals, passing them off is only an option.

Hw vs BB
Came down to the wire with Brentwood leading most of the day HW snagged a few quick ones to get over the line by 2 points

HW vs BB
Reserves was all one sided all day but Brentwood kicking 4 last Q goals to make the score line better.

HW vs BB
League well this was a cracker of a game with Brentwood leading all day to poor kicking by HW, was close all day no one could really kick away it was Brentwood that had the biggest winning margin of the day at half time up by 17 points. Brentwood having the wind in the last quarter didn't use it well with the dogs kicking the fist 2. Brentwood hit back with another 2 then the dogs shot back to get a goal with 5 min to go then shut the game down had full control of the footy.

Was a great day for footy on such a great day. Well done to HW
football club on hosting a great day making it special as it should be.
