Not too many surprises in round 1.

Cockburn vs Piara Waters -Both teams got their seasons off on the right note last weekend with Piara probably being the more impressive. A win here will strengthen my thoughts that they are a definite finals contender this season. On the other hand,a loss by Cockburn will confirm my thoughts that they aren't quite up with the better teams. Piara by 5 goals.

Dianella vs Ballajura -MOTR sees 2 teams go to battle who both had good seasons last year but falling a bit short. From memory the games last year were all tight encounters and I'm expecting the same here. Both teams had good wins first up and will relish the chance to put a stamp on the comp early. Balla for mine this time around.

Manning vs Ellenbrook -Manning were horrible last week for 3 quarters. A few new faces and a new coach but depth again is a massive issue. Not sure the ressies had a bench or a full team. Ellenbrook got done at home,also with a new coach at the helm. That made 4 coaches in 3 years and this one will be looking over his shoulder no doubt. Luckily for him they get to play one of the worst if not the worst team in the comp and the down hill skiers in Ellenbrook will get the win. 8+ goals.

Snesa vs Swan Valley -Last years relegated teams from C2 go at it here. Snesa were ok against Ball while Valley got done at home by Cockburn. Better form line,home grand advantage and better off season recruitng makes this an easy tip. Snesa by 6 goals but could get ugly.

Secret Harbour vs Swan view -Secrets showed last week that they definitely haven't taken the same steps as fellow promoted team Piara and copped a flogging. Can be the case when they play away but are much better team at their shit hole of a set up. Let's just say The View were lucky to be playing Manning round 1! They will no doubt be better for the hit out. Hard to know what will happen here as anything is possible. The View by a point.

Good write up Mad Dog

Guys,

I love reading these tips & very rarely do I write a post these days but I just noticed Mad Dogs game preview & being the club President Id like to clearly say that our senior coach is safe as houses regardless if we win or lose. I am not going into the nitty gritty things that go on within a football club & I make no apology for any coaching decision made over the past few years & I'll let you all keep guessing there but rest assured & just so we are all clear our senior coach has mine & the clubs full support no matter how many games we win or lose.

So in a nutshell Mad Dog, there's no need for Craig to be looking over his shoulder unless there's a cold beer waiting for him up the hill @ Coolamon. He is doing an outstanding job & has the full support from not only his players but the whole football club so rest assured all he'll be coaching our club for as long as he desires too. As with the game last weekend against Dianella-Morley, it was a cracking game of footy & I'm sure they'll agree with that. Very disappointing to see our blokes allow the Raiders to kick the first 6-7 goals before we actually got on the board but being Round 1 who knows those two teams might be the best or the worst but who knows until we all play each other at least once.

I woulda thought the talk of the week woulda been Piara-Waters 15 goal win against Secret Harbour. After all those teams who have come up a grade over the past few seasons have done very very well in this grade. Either way I'm looking forward to the next exciting 17 rounds ahead.

Maybe Ellenbrook needs a change at the top if they are to ever get out of C3.

Haha I thought someone would take it down that path. Ah well I guess we'll just see then won't we. I'll put my house on it that our senior coach has nothing to worry about re his coaching that's for sure. Clubs very lucky to have him.
