North Fremantle vs Wesley Curtin - Wesley Curtin too good for the newly promoted North Fremantle. 10 Goals

Trinity Aquinas vs West Coast Cowan - T/A's should come away with another easy win here. Have recruited quiet well through the off season. 10 Goals

North Beach vs University - Uni again easily as last years premier. Still the best team in the comp. 5 goals

Fremantle CBC vs Mt Lawley - CBC for mine, have a lot to prove after last years final series and a class act. 10 goals

Kalamunda vs Kelmscott - Kalamunda will be too physical for last years B Grade premiers. 3 goals

Shapes up to be a great season this year. Think CBC, Uni, T/A's and Wesley Curtin to be the contenders and you can throw a blanket over the rest.

North Fremantle vs Wesley Curtin - Agree that Wesley Curtin will win but by a lot less than suggested.
Wesley by 2 Goals

Trinity Aquinas vs West Coast Cowan - Agree T/A's should come away with the win. Not convinced that Lynch has shrugged off the injury prone season with the magpies.
TA's by 5 Goals

North Beach vs University - Agree Uni will win but expect a significant improvement from the Beach Boys. The number of players transferring over to the Beach this year is quite incredible. Are they any good? Time will tell.
Uni by 2 goals

CBC vs Mt Lawley - Agree CBC must have been shell shocked after going 16 & 2 for the season and then to go out in the finals in straight sets. They will win easily
FCBC by 10 goals

Kalamunda vs Kelmscott - With their reserves and colts facing 20 goal plus defeats each week a couple of heavy defeats in A Grade early and they wheels will probably come off. It is really hard to see them having any impact this year.
Kalamunda by 10 goals

Wesley Curtin
TA's
University
CBC
Kalamunda

Pretty straight forward round, with the only upset I could see would be North Fremantle knocking of a new Wesley (with Spalding at Perth)

Wesley Curtin in a tight one. North Freo have recruited some quality experienced players and will be fired up to start the season well.
TA's. Is the Q stick playing and if so, will he kick one from the middle?
University. Beach apparently with a lot of new, young faces and Uni a formidable unit who start slowly. The debut of the new facility at Charles Riley.
CBC. A quality outfit, hard to beat in 2015.
Kalamunda. This is a guess only as have nil by idea about Kelmscott.

Good Luck All.

Footy's back.

Will go one further, Grandstand, and pick North Freo to cause the first upset of the season down at Gil Fraser in wet conditions. Always a hard ground to play at and will be the first trip there for a few of the WC boys after a couple of years in B Grade for North Freo.

TAs should win comfortably based on their recruiting and being at home. CBC will easily account for Mount Lawley as the first step to avenging their straight sets exit from the finals last year. Uni should be too strong for North Beach and Kalamunda should show Kelmscott that A Grade will be a big step up for them this year.

When was the last time A grade had a forfeit in the ressies? Big issues if Kelmscott can't field a team for the whole year. Surely they will need to shaft the colts so at least there is League and Reserves and if then they still can't get a Reserves they should be playing E grade. Bring Ath or Whitfords back up.

It certainly is a first in my experience in A Grade. There should be a rule that you MUST field a team in the reserves even if their League side boys have to double up. Unfortunately the writing was on the wall last year, and yet they allowed them to be promoted. Not good for the competition, that's for sure.

As per the WAAFL by-laws, if A Reserve is classified as a "Senior" team, the following fines apply:
1st offence: $200.00
2nd offence: $400.00
Thereafter: $500.00
Again, if A Reserves is classified as a "Senior" team, if they forfeit three qualifying matches then they will be ineligible to re-nominate that team for the following year (Reference: WAFL by-law 3.1e).

Now, this is where it gets interesting. Per by-law 2.4a) the Senior competition for A Grade consists of a League and Reserves competition.

If we assume that Kelmscott somehow manage to stay out of relegation in 2015, BUT the A Reserve team forfeits 3 or more times, then they are not allowed to nominate an A Reserve side in 2016. If this is the case, it will be very interesting what the WAAFL decides to do as if they were to accept a nomination from Kelmscott in 2016 for A Grade then it appears this will breach by-law 3.1e).

My gut-feel is that the WAAFL will sit on their hands throughout the year and pray that Kelmscott get relegated so they don't have to make the decision for them.

Wouldn't this be the same even if they went down to B grade? They wouldn't be allowed to nominate for B Reserves? If they forfeit 3 times this year in the reserves shouldn't they go back to a one team club and down to E1??
